Which likely means that both he and Moore will be Vols. They haven't set an announcement date but I'd say it'll be in the next week or 2.

Yeah, I would think Moore would first get a look at defensive back, most likely at one of the safety spots.

He's gonna have to get in the weight room and redshirt either way. He has good height, great speed, and a knack for being around the ball. Who else would you move to safety? Kenny O'Neal? Brent Vinson(actually would be a good fit)? Gerald Jones? Todd Campbell? Dwight Jones if we land him?

The fact is we are still trying to land Moore, Jones, and another safety.

We have guys already on campus that can play it, and since he would have to redshirt, why not try and recruit the some top safeties next class.

you could move gerald jones to corner. he could probably beat fellows out now.

true, i just don't like fellows at corner. he seems to always let the recievers behind him.:) jones looked good at reciever at the AA game, looks quick. we have a hell of alot of recievers though. somebody is going to have to move if they want to play. maybe pull a pickens and play him both ways.

Ummm, no chance that happens because Jones would not be coming to UT if it wasn't for offense. We already have quite a few candidates for CB(Evans, Willingham, Berry).

Also, it isn't a lock that Fellows starts. Hefney could move to CB. Kemp could start. Marsalous Johnson could start. Antonio Gaines is probably a better option than Fellows as well.

who do you think will start in our defensive backfield. i don't like fellows, i love heff. so that should leave 3 spots up for grabs and some of those freshmen are going to redshirt. i figure berry at one corner, then who

Fellows is coming off of a pectoral tear and was soft enough as it is. He has also been away from the field for a year. Gaines got a little better as the season progressed.

I don't know who to predict as starters. We don't know who we will finish with. If I had to guess right now, I'd say:

CB-Fellows(starts early, but not after a few games)
FS-Wardlow
SS-Hefney
CB-Berry/Willingham

I think the potential best lineup would be:
CB-Willingham
FS-Nevin McKenzie(if we land him)
SS-Hefney
CB-Berry

i can deal with that all, except fellows. wardlow can tackle well. maybe switch willingham for fellows and that would be good. we still need some depth though and a extra DB for the mustang package.

I have Fellows starting early because I don't know how Chief would like starting 2 new CBs and a new safety. By game 3, Berry and Willingham should be starting(McKenzie as well if we land him). Art Evans could be a real sleeper here though. He is alot bigger than we thought and is obviously a playmaker.

i see your point, i just remember fellows always getting beat deep. he probably will start though because of experience.
