Cool story. And Arian Foster wasn't exactly a superstar. No way he'd do well in the NFL. But Creer had some good moments in junk time, so I'm sure he's quite a bit better than both of them.

No disputing that. Creer is just flat out better. I'm sure their carries came against the same competition at points in the game where the Vols were competitive.

And Hardesty was banged up in 2008. Creer did get to start the Wyoming game for us. Tough sledding there. I imagine it worked out really well.

Summary of Creer's 2008 season:

First rush of the season for Creer: Late third quarter against UAB
Florida - 1 rush against in 3rd quarter, UT down three scores
Auburn - 4 carries, 1 in each quarter
Georgia - 2 carries in first quarter, 1ypc
MSU - 17 carries for 68 yards. Played throughout the game.
Bama - 4 carries, 1 in each quarter
SC - 3 carries, 9 yards, 1 fumble returned to the 38 yards to the 4 yard line. Next play TD Gamecocks.
Wyoming - Started. 16 carries for 82 yards.
Vandy - 13 carries for 80 yards, fourth quarter fumble recovered by Vandy
Kentucky - came in third quarter. 6 rushes for 24 yards.

seriously? hardesty was a good running back who struggled with injuries off and on his first 3 years here. i never considered hardesty to be a "bad" runningback, just one who had a problem staying healthy.

as for your original quote, what were you saying exactly? you mentioned creer's results at ut, but what results are you actually talking about? he stayed on the bench while he was here and was in at runningback mostly in mop up duty.

and like i said, it was in mop up duty.....who do you think creer was usually getting his yardage against? alot of his playing time at running back came against teams like southern miss or lousiana lafayette after tennessee already had gotten a comfortable lead most of the time.......a prime example of this being in the videos below:
