Les Miles total opposite of CFP

Miles' gambles have been pure luck. That play last night with 1 second was dumb, even though it ended up as a TD.

One thing that hasn't been mentioned (I don't think): Auburn's short kickoff helped make the gamble possible in the first place.

I've never thought of Les Miles as a good gameday coach, or even a great coach period. He lays an egg over and over, but some how lucks out by out-talenting other teams. In my opinion, LSU's defense is as disappointing as our's this year, based on expectations. That once dominating defense has played about as bad as ours.

Miles has inherited a program with the talent that lets him be a moron and still prosper.

Good point. If Tubby had kicked the ball deep we probably wouldn't have this vibrant Les Miles thread for discussion.

Ron Zook is going to build a great team out there. As for Indiana it's a long shot, but there are miracles.

Anything above that then Les Miles will have to be surrounded by some great assistants and players

Michigan will always have better players than Indiana and I'd bet on Miles over Zook any day.

You shouldn't have left out Wisconsin out of the equation.

Ask Gator fans about Zook.

Betting on miracles on a yearly basis rarely pays off

Ask Illini fans about Zook. He could possibly have this team in a BCS game within 3 years. Just look at the recruits he's getting. Look at what all he's accomplished this year, I take him over Miles anyday. I'm sure you thought the same thing about Randy Sanders, just look at him now. It's crazy to make such a comparison when Zook obviously has this young team competing with any in the Big 10.

The Big 10 sucks. A competent coach can win there.

Zook brought in great talent at UF. What did it get him? His own website (FireRonZook.com). Miles has brought in better classes than the Zooker has. It's not really an arguement.

Miles = BCS title hopes

Zook = 3rd place in the Big Ten

How many players on UF's roster last year were recruited by Zook. I never said Zook was a better coach, but with the talent he's bringing in at Illinois he's sure to have that program competing at a top level. Meanwhile Miles inherited a team full of NFL picks and has been average. Zook will have more success in the long run in the Big 10 than Miles will in the SEC, or if he decides to take the UM job next year.
