When Dooley was first hired is there anyone one here that can honestly say you thought we would finish with a top ten class? What Dooley, Thompson, and Chaney have done really is pretty remarkable.

Honestly, I was very optimistic. I figured we would be just fine. and I made posts stating that

I was optimistic as well and threw my support by Dooley almost immediately. With that said, I am shocked and it is pretty darn remarkable.

I was worried when I heard the announcement of DD if he could recruit the SEC. No longer a question. He has by far exceeded my expectations. If this guy can coach, the rest of the SEC is in trouble!

GO VOLS

I was thinking 15-20, Dooley has done an awesome job. In the long run we will be MUCH better off with CDD than X.

Let's see where this class ends up after NSD before we go predicting top 10. ;-)

Does anyone have any more info on the statement made in one of yesterday's threads that something HUGE is going to happen on NSD?

WE was all wooed by the coaches(who's name will never cross my lips) by the recruiting ability,But what this staff has done is just short of amazing. Two areas that x had was having a hard time getting WR & QB's.So I just want to say the little short.fat,Red Bull drinking putz wears Dooley underroos.

I also thought we would lose more recruits and end up 20-25 ranked, just with the EEs. DD and staff have far exceeded my expecatations in recruiting. With the staff that he is building, hope a start to a new dynasty.

I read on here a lot that DD could recruit. I figured given the time frame and lack of coaches a 25 would be good. I am amazed. Can't wait for his next recruiting adventures.

That has been posted time and again since before whatshisface left. Some say it will be a coach, some say a big time recruit. Reckon we will know Thursday.

I actually posted at the time about how would we feel if Dooley finished with a top 10 class....after all the defending of X's mouth, recruiting violations, etc....we can still finish with a class better than what we would have had if X stayed. If we end up with Ambles, Rogers, Stone....a few others. I don't think Rogers, Hunter, or Stone would have come with x still here.

Anyway, I was hopeful, but am really surprised at what they have done. Also feel like a chump for believing x was really helping recruiting by running his pie-hole.

One can dream and here is mine. The entire O line from one high school commited to Gators at All american game. They have their Gators hats beside them at NSD and then........ Throw them on the ground and whip out those BIG ORANGE hats!

Stretch... But what a day that would be!

I will support this coach, as I have all the rest. I will trust in him until he gives me reason not to. As for his recruiting abilities, he has done a great job in keeping this class together. Next year will be the telling year to see if he can REALLY recruit. Success on the field is very important, and it doesn't look good for next years W-L record. I am hoping he can do as good as the last staff.

Thank God he kept Thompson and Chaney, without them, I don't know how we finish. Probably not in top 10 though.

He has far exceeded his expectations with only a few weeks to bring in a solid class. He has nearly won half the battle. Now to coach them up ....

CDD with recruiting efforts - which is better than any of us expected and putting together a darn good coaching staff which looks to me that can teach and recruit - truly impressive - his organization skills are as good as published - now let's finish strong and make people worry about the guys who bleed orange! GBO!

Dooley is a far better coach than Kiffin... he competed against Auburn at LA Tech as good as Kiffin did last year... Kiffin is/was over rated... it will show at USC... and he will run their program into the ground... he better make the most of this recruiting class at USC... without wins the recruits won't come for him... no worries... :)

I never thought I would say this, but the relative lack of publicity replaced by "solid behind the scene effort" has been a breath of fresh air. We're hearing about the results, walking the walk. At this time last year, all we heard about was the trash talkin' coming out of Rocky Top.
We had to stand behind him because he was our coach, but in retrospect, it was all pretty studpid. Not part of a grand master plan, as we were led to believe.
The publicity we're looking for will come on NSD!
The cream of the south will rise again!!
