Let's go through the national championship scenarios again

So what happens if AL loses to LSU by 1pt and only slides down to 5th? Then OKST and Stanford both lose a few weeks later. Boise St could easily be jumped by AL due to SOS and we could have an AL/LSU rematch in New Orleans. Probably not going to happen but it is another scenario. Remember it is all about computers and they have LSU and AL, neck and neck basically. If whichever team loses this weekend can hold on to a 1-3 pt loss and finish out strong it could happen.

Special sidenote here: Houston at #13 in the BCS standings is crazy. One more spot and they're in contention for a BCS bid. I've always thought Conference USA was an extremely fun conference to watch, so this would be huge for them.

I think you might see Oregon jump back in it. Oklahoma's one loss would be much worse than Oregon's, plus the Ducks would presumably have wins over Stanford, USC and ASU twice -- four quality wins to OU's two.

I could see it, but the computers appear to absolutely hate the Pac-12 in general.

I agree. As long as the LSU/Bama game is close and well played and the only undefeated team left is Boise then it's a rematch for the title. The voters won't let Boise St. jump either LSU or Bama imo. The biggest positive for a rematch is that the SEC has won the last 5 national titles. That alone gives us a great shot at a rematch.

Please let this happen.

I think there's a better chance for a rematch if bama beats lsu than if lsu beats bama, lsu's SOS is better than bama's

Not at all. I made an inference. It is public knowledge the PAC-10 was in talks with Boise. Then, Boise chose to leave the WAC for the Mountain West in June 2010; the PAC-10 invited Colorado in July 2010. I believe that while Boise wanted out of the WAC, they did not want to step into a conference where they would have to consistently prove their football credentials.

And I think you're crazy if you think they'd turn down the increase in money they'd get from being in the Pac-12 or Big 12 just so they can stay the "underdog".

If the Pac 12 wanted them they would have accepted no question.

Definitely would. If Oregon and OU both win, Boise's probably in the title game and I'm not sure you could make an argument against it considering there would only be one Big Six unbeaten.

I could make an argument against it... Georgia is currently the only top 25 team on their schedule.

6-2 Georgia
6-2 TCU
5-2 Wyoming

5-3 Toledo
5-3 Tulsa
5-3 Nevada
4-3 San Diego St
4-4 Air Force
3-5 Fresno St
3-5 Colorado St
2-5 UNLV
0-8 New Mexico

-----------
48-45

* Remaining schedule

If you take away ooc opponents, their conference opponents currently have a record of 21-29.

I'd be utterly disgusted if a team got a championship bid in that conference, with that schedule. People can say it's not their fault all they want but it doesn't change the fact that they play trash. They shouldn't be rewarded for that schedule while a team like Alabama/LSU could have one loss and be left out because they played each other. Or Oregon because they lost to the #1 team in the country. Or Stanford(if they lose to Oregon) because they lost to Oregon, whose only loss is to the #1 team and so on. If it comes down to LSU/Alabama and Boise State being the only undefeated teams left, there will be a number of one loss teams that should go over Boise State.

For real though... if Boise State goes to the championship, maybe Tennessee can get in on joining CUSA. Beats struggling to get back on top in the SEC when they could apparently play in the championship if they go undefeated against a bunch of garbage and enough teams from quality conferences lose.

LSU/Alabama should leave too since it's impossible for both to go undefeated and that loss will keep them out of a championship because another team only had to play one ranked opponent all year. I don't even know why they bothered scheduling Oregon and Penn State if all it takes is beating Georgia(Currently the 5th best team in the SEC).

Btw, the b****ing isn't directed at you. It's directed at the idea of Boise State going to the championship in general. The thought of it is disgusting. I just hope two other teams remain undefeated so it's not an issue. Personally, I still have faith that a one loss team would go over them if it comes down to it. I hope so anyways...

They never wanted Boise State. What would Boise State have to offer? As far as I know they wouldn't offer anything financially or even academically. PAC 12 would have taken Colorado over Boise State any day of the week. They wanted the Denver market and Colorado's stadium seats 20,000 more than Boise State's. The city of Boise and the state of Idaho isn't much of a market and I don't think the PAC 12 wants another stadium that seats 30,000. I'm sure they hate sharing money with Washington State as is

This is just as much of an inference as mine was; yet, I am not saying that you are "making crap up".

I do not see it as far-fetched that Boise would rather take a smaller increase in revenue and continue to win ten to eleven games a year (Mountain West move) than take a larger increase in revenue and potentially only win eight games a year.

Money rules the day, so your scenario makes little sense and no school would choose less money.
