Lets look at it this way

I agree with most . I especially agree that this could have been alot worse , and would have been alot worse last season.

I think the perceived play calling is a symptom of the offensive line play . There was instant pressure at the point of attack and the run gaps were flooded ...due to blocking. Okie sat on the receivers at the line for the most part ...so the underneath was just not an option most of the game and there was no time to get down field because of the pressure. IN this offense the QB reads the zone and either hands off or pulls the handoff and passes in a layered west coast system. No time for the play fake and no time to develop downfield. The line is young and this is an expected problem by most . They will get better . There is no offense that can function without O line production

I disagree with the SEC play. This OU team is better than maybe the best SEC team . WE have a shot in every SEC game except one..Bama. We almost beat UG and did beat USCe and we are a much improved team this season

when CBJ was hired, first job,.. improve the defense!!....he did, he has improved the defense to such an degree i am shaking my head in disbelief im stunned, in shock..night and day diff....next job special teams ...night and day...not the flashy runs when cordell patterson was here, but we dont allow long runs backs for td anymore(?)...next is offense guys ..im drinking the kool aid bad....,...lol...new offensive game plan,..an oline who has played together for a year or two....

Does everyone here not remember how young our OL/DL's are? Come on, 55 is going to grow up immensely after tonight...

I was thinking the exact same think!
Tennessee is the only team in college football to return no starters on offense or defense, Plus our boys are only around 18 years old and playing men who are 20 to 22 year olds who have been hitting the gym for 2 to 4 years with profesional trainers.

Add in we really missed Wolfe and Pearson on this game. Their presence would have made a difference in some of our offensive possessions

Pre-game goals: compete the entire game, keep them under 40 and walk off with no injuries.

Post game realization; The O-Line was man handled and took it. Worley IS our man and a tough SOB and Hurd is going to stellar.

Looking to the future: The bye week is coming at a great time and from watching the FL vs UK game, we could beat FL with just our defense. I say we seriously reevaluate the ENTIRE O Line. Don't know what all that goes into that, so what I say doesn't make a fart in a whirlwind of difference.

My head is held high for this team and I'm proud of our Defense, WR's, Hurd and mostly Worley. Rest and recover and reevaluate. Go Vols from California!

I don't know how you build up the line mid season. What we need is size, speed, strength and depth. I didn't see so many missed assignments tonight as I did our guys getting blown off the line or outrun around the end. What we need can't be coached.

In these situations ...freshmen linemen tend to improve through the length of the season. One issue is the developmental issues. 18-19 year old can work wonders in the weight room in 2 months in terms of strength and agility . Many of their issues seem to be technical ..foot position , hand placement , leverage . All by products of youth and all reasons a guy will get instantly boat raced . These aspects WILL improve with repetition.

The good news is that we will see only one more team with this overall talent level all season. We did beat USCe and almost beat UGA and Vandy was close with far less talent last season. I think we have a shot in all but one of our SEC games .

I see more positives than negatives...

D played lights out....it could have been much worse w/ less speed

O line is raw....they have 3ish starts across the line but this is probably the best front 7 in college football this year. It was painful at times and I actually worried if Worley was going to make it through the whole game. But hey....he persevered and there were flashes of brilliance in the 2nd half.

Hurd is a beast....he is something special and will prove it once the line matures

agree with you my brother in Orange. Also worth mentioning ...these kids were criticized 2 seasons ago as soft ...quitters . They are gritty and tough now . These kids have the right mindset . When this O line matures ...hopefully this season ...this will be a good team

our guys played against pretty much the same team that man handled and thumped bama last year.....

add the touchdown Croom should have caught and run the ball inside the 5 instead of a pick 6 and what do you have?????

I picked OU to win 50-10, so the D was 16 points better than I figured. 23 points better actually, since the one TD wasnt scored against the D

Positives

Worley played hard
Hurd showed glimpses of greatness
D played hard. Barnett, Johnson, Sutton are ballers
Team never gave up

Negative
Offensive game calling
Offensive line
Dropped passes
Still questionable at Safety. Too many bad angles resulting in too many YAC by OU

Keep your heads up, but I'm not sold on Bajakian being able to improve this offense enough to win in the SEC.

Count, what do you think Spurrier could do with the present offense? Even with the Oline?
