You and many others overestimate the talent on this team. There are a lot of issues and problems with this team. Cuonzo's fault for not getting it right with recruiting, but to say this is the best talent we've had in a long time is a stretch.

Gad Krager.
3 years is a pretty long time.

Very true. This is the most talented team since Martin has been here. I'd argue that you'd have to go back to the Buzz Peterson era to find a team less talented than this one besides Martin's first two teams.

Entertainment value would be one reason. But Henderson took his team to a sec championship and a sweet sixteen also.

Because Buckner and Holloway had nothing to do with that? Where's Henderson leading his team this year without those guys?

Marshall was the catalyst to their SEC championship and sweet 16 season and nearly got an elite 8. How good was ole miss the year prior without Henderson?

You are never out of a game with Henderson.

And I don't want to play them in the SECT cause I know how it will end.

Where were they leading the team without him?

Ole miss has been a dumpster fire for years. Marshall shows up and boom. Sec champs and sweet 16. Those guys were good but MH is the biggest reason they had the success they did. I watched first hand him dismantle us on our own floor.

Well.....first, OM only won one game in the NCAAT last year. They best Wisconsin and lost to LaSalle. So, they weren't close to the Elite Eight. Second, Holloway had 23 points and 10 rebounds in the SECG against UF. Also, Henderson started 1/13 against Wisconsin and ended 6/21. Both Holloway and Buckner nearly had double doubles. I do agree that he is a catalyst, and he can fill it up quickly. But I think it is quite clear that he needs inside help. He really doesn't do anything else real well, especially defense and setting up others. JMO.

Fair points. My mistake on the sweet 16. I watched that game. Guess I'm getting old because my memory is failing.

Maybe I'm being too critical of our guys and giving Henderson a little too much credit. But of course he needs inside help. Nobody can do it alone. Looks at Caldwell Pops last year.

Yea, all those tournament games start running together after you watch so many. He clearly has been good for OM and probably saved Kennedy's job. I am not even sure they make the NCAAT if they dont win the SEC. Holloway had that strange path where he started at OM, transferred closer to home to South Carolina, and then transferred back. Holloway and Buckner weren't elite, but they were physical and long and their length effected us. Not sure Maymon would have fared any better.

Then why are they going nowhere this year?

If we make it to the tourney, ccm gets extended. Be careful what you wish for.

If that happens, hang the black curtains semi permanently in the arena. The big $$ donors at half court will certainly get their $$$'s worth won't they? choke choke:hi:

Ole Miss is a dumpster fire with a bozo head coach.

Last year with Henderson and the 2 bigs, NCAA tourney/SEC champs.

This year with Henderson and neither of the bigs, NIT team.

I guess I'm just missing where it is that Henderson single handily carried last head team like it seems you're trying to say.

Is he good yea, but last year wasn't all him, as evidenced by this year.

Doesn't matter if you want Cuonzo fired or not, as Vol fans we should still support the Vols. It's been said all year, but the season isn't over. This team can either winout or lose to Florida and still make the tournament.

Personally, I love March Madness and I would rather prefer that our Vols are seeded, even if it's a 10-12 seed.
If you don't care about our BasketVols then this forum is not for you!

I totally agree with you! I'm a VFL and I watch every game because I'm a VFL. People are saying they hate the product on the floor right now and refuse to watch it. Fine, find some other team to watch.

This is my team! I watch just about everything UT that's on TV. Football, hoops, softball, you name it. IMO, you're not a real fan if you don't watch our teams, regardless whether you like or dislike a particular coach.

I support them, but it'll take winning the rest to impress anyone on the panel so that's what they'd better be prepared to do if they want the NCAAT. If not, heck, lose to GA at home. Lose to TAM in College Station. Whatever.
