How the hell will Ainge regroup after that showing? His confidence level has been shot to hell and back.Great qb but lacks the status level of a college player.

Agreed, plus, he made the worst play in UT football history. My 4 year old would do the same thing he did with the ball if I ran at him and yelled boo. Whom ever voted for Ain't in this poll should be casterated!

And oh by the way, Rick settled this arguement for the final time last night. On top of spring practice, fall practice, and the first three game. Hey E, sit down and shut up. It's Rick's team.

Rick should be our undeniable starter. If we get up on a team by four or five touchdowns late in the game then put in Ainge to give him some experience but I don't see how the coaches can start Ainge over Rick.

Wow...I expected a little closer, but preseason I would have voted Erik, but his performance has down right been horrnedous.

Go Rick!

still a question???  you decide...

anyone who watched the game last night, including Fulmer, should know the answer to this question.
The only fear I have for Clausen is the fans themselves, if you do good they cheer for ya, if you do bad (like lose a game), they want to burn you at the stake, I guess thats all part of being the quaterback

GO RICK

GO VOLS

If I am the parents of Ainge, I am wondering what in the world has happened since the beginning of last year when my son was on the receiving end of high praise and high regard from the coaching staff and fans? I am wondering what has happened after a year to the development of my son under the tutelage of the Tennessee coaching staff? I would be remembering the thunderous applause of the crowd at the beginning of 2004 when the two young guns were heralded as the future of the Tennessee football program and????

Well if they are really wondering, what I would suggest is, to get tapes of the UT vs. UAB game, the UT vs Florida game, and the UT vs LSU game and watch those.

I think watching those games, it would be more then self explanatory why Eric Ainge is now on the bench and Clausen is the starter.

Eric Ainge had more then enough opportunties to show what he could do and he blew it. As simple as that. The only reason we beat LSU was he got hurt and came out.

I don't believe it is quite that simple. How does a new, young talent who is supposed to be full of potential in 2004, etc. etc. turn into a loser so quickly in the minds of so many? I don't think so!! If that is so, someone in our recruiting/coaching staff missed it and we have all been misinformed!!

Aigne was cleared to play the second half, he was not hurt. Rick came in because he should have.

I don't pretend to be the college coach... and I sure don't get paid the money to make the decisions. However, it seems clear to me that the team is behind Rick and I am too. He has got passed over many times and wasn't, IMO, given a chance to run the team in the Florida game. Either way.... I hope he is there for the rest of the year... he deserves it.
