Let's talk about Joey Halzle

How about firing 3rd and long Tim Banks?
Banks can’t make Herring not over pursue or coach him up enough to make him faster. Plus, as touted as the DL has been, they were giving Beck all day to throw unless we blitzed 6.

It’s on everybody. This team has a lot of work to do in the offseason bc this fanbase is fickle and expects to be Alabama overnight. 8-4 is what a lot of ppl predicted. We lost 2 starting WRs, our #1 db, both starting safeties, our #1 LB and at least 2 OL have been out at any given time in the season. Plus, Joe is just not a great QB. He’s got talent and a lot of upside but he’s late or over throws a lot. Special teams and Jaylen Wright have been the only two real bright spots for this team.

Fans need to start sending the Moving Vans. At least 3

If so, then maybe he should give Halzle a shot at actually calling the plays. It also leads me to believe that Golesh was the actual play caller last year due to the vast departure in play calling from last year to now, quality of QB notwithstanding.
Pretty big “notwithstanding”. Funny that Golesh’s worst games coincided with Hooker’s worst performances the past two seasons. 🤔 And it’s revisionist history at it’s finest to think 2021 was second guessing free…including the bowl game loss to Purdue. Conclusion for me is simply HEUPEL’S gameplanning is as good or bad as his starting QB.

Heupel calls the plays. He called them in 2021 too before turning it over to Golesh in 2022.

-This offense is not sustainable. Predictable! Smoke & mirrors!
-S&C is pathetic!
-DB's are slow and weak!

Milton was a stop gap measure.
Hooker was a must take due to Pruitt recruiting.
CHJ wanted his guy first and Hooker proved he could do the job and got the job based on an injury.
Hooker was always a player that many overlooked or took for granted.
Hooker's greatest asset was his ability to assess and process the best choices during the play. In addition he had the ability/talent to make the throws needed
Milton is too slow in the processing and although the Talent is there most of the time he doesn't match it up well and over thinks the situation.
Nico is learning still and if he can process the field in gametime play we will be there in the hunt. Build the force around him and we will be fine.

Our defense is killing us because of injury, experience, youth and depth. Banks gameplans are in game and reactionary. Bobo ate his lunch yesterday.

Milton was brought in after spring practice. The staff was not sold on Hooker. Don’t underestimate a self motivated player getting better, which Hyatt did likewise. But Milton hasn’t made himself or his teammates better this season.

The offensive play calling is terrible and predictable! And before we blame the QB, remember, coaches put the players on the field.
So you’re cool with putting an underweight freshman behind an OL and receiving Corp decimated by injury. Because that’s the only alternative.

Head coach calls the plays
Do you know that for a fact ? I'm gonna take a guess and say Golesh had a lot more rope on what he saw vs the rookie Halze. Checks were much quicker from the booth down to the sidelines also. Heupel has to know he screwed up there. Last night you saw that frustration on the time out in the 2nd half. He was pissed off because the play didnt get down to the field and had to burn a TO. The WR coach may need to be looked at as well. Defensive coaches excluding Garner should all be re-evaluated and relieved of duty after the Bowl game.

Good teams do not lead their conferences in penalties.
We are missing top notch coordinator’s on both sides of the ball, period.
Undisciplined and discombobulated. Not a good combination……..
