This is bad news for the Colbert Report fans. I'm site Steven Colbert himself is looking forward to not having to be in character all the time though.

It's a win for NBC though. Fallon will make NBC #1 in late night ratings for 20 more years. Carrying the torch from Johnny and Jay

I laughed at Rush Limbaugh's outrage over Colbert getting the spot. Apparently he never paid attention to how left leaning Letterman is.

Eh, Colbert report has been a bit stale for a couple years now.

I really just watch clips here and there and usually laugh pretty hard. I'm sure it gets old 5 days a week. Thats how I felt about Stewart and the Daily Show.

Hmmm, not only did Ferguson not get the Late Show spot, it's starting to sound like he's going to lose his Late Late Show gig. CBS has said that spot is "up in the air". His contract is up in July 2015 I think, and rumors were they want to bring a new host. They've also said he may re-sign.

I find that odd. I don't watch his show every night, and I think he relies on the robot thing too much, but I've yet to watch a show of his and not laugh a good bit.

Ferguson is retiring in December. He said 10 years doing that kind of show was enough. Mad that he didn't get the Letterman gig?

I'm thinking there's something to it. Apparently at some point it was assumed that he was the heir apparent to the Late Show, and I read he's getting somewhere between $8-$10 million because he didn't get the spot. He also had already accepted a day time gig hosting a game show, and had been shopping 2-3 show ideas to cable channels (non-talk shows).

I figured once the news hit that CBS was "exploring options" for the Late Late Show, and that he wasn't getting The Late Show that his time was done. I was also surprised to read that his ratings took a hit when Seth Meyers took over Late Night. I take that to mean he did better up against Jimmy Fallon. I've watched a few of Meyers' show, and while I give him some slack because it's still new, I haven't been very impressed. His shows are usually kinda boring and his skits are usually really bad. His funniest segments are his interactions with Fred Armisen, who is by far the best part of the show and he's not even on it all the time.

I was surprised by the ratings hit as well. Like , im not impressed with Meyers at all. I like him and was pulling for him but its bad.
