A story on Fox News' website is reporting that the NAACP in collusion with Media Matters and other left wing media organizations has started a group specifically trying to catch the TP in "gotcha" moments. They are soliciting dirt from anyone who can catch it on video.

What if a predominately white group went after the NAACP like that? Would they be labeled hate-mongers? Would the left demand that the harrassment stop?

Just one more example of the liberal hypocrisy demonstrated every single day in the world outside and by LG and pals here.

Do you remember the Journolist? They DID conspire to silence critics of Obama by throwing out unfounded accusations of racism toward conservative commentators.

TPers are free to speak of whatever they want. Nobody is muffling them. You're accusing them of documenting their acts. Anyways, short memories abound. Sherrod and the NAACP meeting.... "gotcha"....

was Sherrod taped with the intent to get her in trouble or was it discovered later? And with the number of efforts to get lib plants in the rallies this could be an issue

of course but I was just asking a question about the specific example posted. The gov't has done the plant/spy thing before so it's not a surprise. I just think these obviously left-leaning groups are showing their desperation and people get ugly when put in that position.

The party in power trying to silence opposition is scary to me

And how in the **** is the party in power doing anything. This is not the party in power. This is allegedly the liberal media. If the media or anyone takes 'gotcha' moments, it's not silencing anybody. It's bad journalism, but that's been the case ever since Fox News became the powerhouse it is.

The scary part is when the opposition gives in to being silenced.

even in your wikipedia link it doesn't say he actually did the editing. And the result was a scared WH giving her the axe without even checking into it. If Breitbart's intent was actually to make us laugh more at the Pres then he did a good job

He did make the White House look stupid.

And by editing, I mean he chose short excerpts from the video that did not tell the whole story. Which is what he intentionally did.

for every Fox there is an MSNBC, CNN, etc. One lone voice in the land of liberal media isn't really a bad thing (unless you're on the other side).

Libs are in power in DC right? By silenced I mean portrayed as ignorant, racist, clueless idiots that have no idea what is best for this country. Not to mention the plants from those left groups that will try to help.

I've heard the accusations but never saw it confirmed AB did the editing. Wouldn't mind reading it if you have a link

and the story of her changing her racist ways is cute and all but actually belongs in a George Strait song if you believe it

I'm not drinking the Kool-aid. The media networks are horrible. Conservative media uses clips of the NCAAP making a reverse racism comment because that is what their audience wants to see. The liberal media shows clips of TPers being bigots because that is what their audience wants to see. Nobody is going to watch something that portrays something different from their "feelings".

However, none of this is "silencing" anyone. This is video taping and then using that material however you like. It's awful practice. But as long as the audience is willing to point the finger at the other guys instead of themselves, they will keep doing it. Because it keeps their pitchfork wielding audience coming back.

they don't have the ability they would like to fully silence them so they use their media outlets and plants to marginalize the message. Do it enough and they are basically silenced.
