maybe one or two will take the time to read the Constitution and realize that there is no:

right to an abortion
right to free or affordable housing
right to high speed internet
right to free health care

Is it a shame that the document was so perfect it only needed to be amended 27 times?

That is the beauty of the document. It can be changed and those things repealed stay in the document so we can see the faults and the changes.

Are the Libs the only ones who are anti-Constitution? The GOP has not impressed me much as the defenders of the Constitution, either.

Last time I checked, smokers rights have been taken away by both Democratic and Republican controlled city and state governments. MADD has lobbied to both Dems and Reps in order to change drinking ages and drinking limits in all 50 states. I believe that it was the Republican controlled legislature that floated the idea of National ID cards...?

The bottom line is, our voters are uninformed of exactly what the Constitution stands for. Therefore, they do not hold any of our elected officials accountable to the very foundation of this great country.

...right to wage war without congressional declaration, right to warrantless spying on citizens, right to revoke habeas corpus....etc.

This works both ways.

Constitution Day - Home

It is a shame that all liberals think the constitution is good for is to wipe their rear ends with it......

Thoughts?

My thought is that you are painting liberals with a broad brush and engaging in hyperbole to the point that your actual argument loses whatever credibility it, and you, might have otherwise had.

Not all conservatives are racist. But some are.

Not all liberals think that the Executive branch should be made much weaker than the Constitution would seemingly allow. But some do.

The real question is whether the right to petition for the writ of habeas corpus has been violated.

regardless, if the President has violated the Constitution, it is the Speaker's duty to bring him up on impeachment charges. Since she hasn't, she is either complicit, ignorant, or in dereliction of her sworn duties and she must therefore be brought up on charges.

I dont like Pelosi one bit, but I don't think she's any of those, therefore, the President has not violated the Constitution in any way.

habeus corpus is a privilege, not a right.

see Article I Section 9 of The US Constitution

The history of the article is clear. The meaning of the clause, as interpreted for more than two centuries, is that the Founders recognized the long-established English law principle of habeas corpus, which guarantees people the right of due process, such as formal charges and a fair trial.

Using your argument that it is a "priviledge", not a "right", is the same as interpreting the first amendment as saying we don't explicitely have the right to worship as we please, assemble as we like, and say what we want...only that governement can't pass laws infringing on these.
