Last time I checked, smokers rights have been taken away by both Democratic and Republican controlled city and state governments. MADD has lobbied to both Dems and Reps in order to change drinking ages and drinking limits in all 50 states. I believe that it was the Republican controlled legislature that floated the idea of National ID cards...?

The bottom line is, our voters are uninformed of exactly what the Constitution stands for. Therefore, they do not hold any of our elected officials accountable to the very foundation of this great country.

I do not understand what in your statement makes you believe that the GOP has failed to defend the constitution. Why does it offend you that someone would want to regulate behaviors that affect everyone. What scares you about a national id card?

Let's put it this way.

Are you in any way upset about having to register a firearm with the Federal Government? Are you not more upset that you might have to register yourself with the Federal Government?
