If we make it to a bowl anywhere from Charlotte to Memphis down to Tampa...I'm there. Been too long.

I don't think a Liberty Bowl appearance equates to coach of the year material.

This...people have set their expectations so low they think the rest of the country will do the same. 6-6 will get UT to a bowl game. How impressive are these 6 wins?

USU- Home
Ark St- Home
UTC- Home
Mizzou- Home
UK- Home
Vandy- Away

That would get UT to the Liberty Bowl, but there is nothing impressive about that list and certainly not COY.

Apparently Schlabach doesn't have the same kind of love for us. He's always been up Saban's butt anyway. No surprise there. I feel like a bowl game is extremely realistic, if not probable. And if we make a bowl, we gone whip dey azzzz.

Although true about Schlabach, McMurphy picked Bama in the Sugar Bowl. This is a team with a new OC, weak secondary still unless something changes there and still NO QB.

Beale Street, Peabody Hotel, BBQ and Vols at Liberty - sounds like fun to me.

We would own about 85% of stadium if it were to happen. It would basically be a home game.

90% I don't like any percentages that are associated with alabubba.

We will make a bowl.. and it will be a good one also.

We will hit 8 wins, and due to overachieving the world will take notice. We will be on the road to becoming a hot commodity again. And the bigger bowls will want to try to get us in because of the audience we bring to the table. No one travels like the vol faithful do.

JMHO..

Really my first Tennessee memory was watching the '71 Liberty Bowl game against Arkansas with my dad.

We won 14-13 and I was hooked.

Cool pic

I think everyone's ready for any signs of improvement no matter how small...

That wasn't my point. Some poster said if UT goes to the Liberty Bowl then Jones should be coach of the year. I disagreed with that thought.

But since you're looking for improvement, I'm not sure "just" going to a bowl game would show that. UT should beat: USU, Ark. St, UTC, Mizzou, UK, and Vandy.

Now, if UT is struggling midway through the season and he says, "screw it" and let's this talented incoming class take over and he's got a lot of youth on the field, then I'm all for it.

Similar to the excitement we saw towards the end of the 2010 season with Bray, Hunter, Rogers, etc. on the field.
