Forget the politics for a moment. Why say something like this hours after the guy dies?

Limbaugh on Steinbrenner: 'Cracker' made black athletes millionaires - CNN.com

obviously you didn't listen to his segment. he was making fun of the fact dems will lose out on the death tax. he was praising him and his busy savy. he mentioned jessie jackson's runaway slave comment and the comments the New black panther part rep said about 'crackers'.. He was pointing out the fact that steinbrenner did make many black ballplayers extremely rich, but he was using the same language as your your jessie and the other racist said.

you're reaching lawgaytor. go back in your hole.

This comment was about the death tax, Jesse Jackson, and the Black Panthers?

They always take Rush out of context, they quote one sentence out of a whole statement and push it.

i know, they take 10 second blip from a 3-4 minute segment to try to point out that he's a racist and people like LG drink it up like flavor-aid.

I just listened to 60 seconds of it on youtube and there was no discussion of these other things you are citing to joevol. You got a link to prove your contention?

Here's the transcript from the segment. It only took a 15 second search to find it.

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT
RUSH: George Steinbrenner has passed away at age 80. That cracker made a lot of African-American millionaires. George Steinbrenner, the classic capitalist. Everybody around him became wealthy. Like most successful capitalists, he made the people around him wealthy, and a lot of African-American millionaires along the way, and at the same time he fired a bunch of white guys as managers, left and right. Steinbrenner hasn't been himself for the past two or three years, but nevertheless what a man he was and what a fixture and a character he was in Major League Baseball.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: George Steinbrenner. Now, this is an example, my friends, of the kind of news that I'm going to impart here that will just infuriate liberals, it will ruin their day. George Steinbrenner, that cracker was a great capitalist, and he made many African-Americans who worked for him millionaires, as a lot of capitalists do. But he also, as a good capitalist, knew when to die. There is no death tax. George Steinbrenner's family this year will not have to cough up 55% of what they inherit and perhaps lose the New York Yankees. How sad it is we've come to this point in America? How much you want to bet, the liberals try to get around this, pass a special law or something to get the Yankee tax money.

This is a story from Business Insider: "If you're massively wealthy, then 2010 is not a bad year to pass away. That's because Congress allowed the inheritance tax to lapse for one year. Not that the Steinbrenner family is seeing any 'upside' in the passing of the legendary Yankees owner. But the lack of the tax, which could go as high as 55%, could make the passing of the Yankees franchise that much easier." In fact, it will be totally easy. You remember the family of Joe Robbie, who owned the Miami Dolphins? When he passed away they had to sell the team to pay the estate taxes. It had not been the wisest estate planning going on there. But Steinbrenner knew when to die. No estate tax -- (interruption) what are you laughing at, Brian? You know damn well this kind of thing is going to irritate the left like nothing else will, especially since I point it out.

LG, I guess I'm having deja vu but I seem to remember the leftists' poster boy Chris Matthews "losing his mind" in a similar manner? (i.e. using racial terms when they were "inappropriate")

Matthews: 'I forgot he was black tonight for an hour' - Michael Calderone - POLITICO.com

Yeah, he was pretty embarassed by that one, I imagine. Was good how the liberal media criticized him for it as he deserved it.

Can't wait to see Fox get on Limbaugh's case, too.

Oh wait.....

even if he was telling the truth?

I don't have any problem with his message or whether it was correct. I just think that the public feedback is exactly what he should have expected.

I think he was to some degree correct, but you won't hear him talking about white basketball players getting overhyped based solely on the fact that they're white.

true. nobody talks about either situation. the great white hope toby gerheart is a perfect example. no chance in hell he gets invited ot the heisman ceremony if he was black.

Limbaugh knows this is exactly what's going to happen. He mocks the left by using their own lingo against them. He knows that what he says will be taken out of context and demonized, but anyone who follows politics at all knows whats going on here and thinks its pretty funny.

You really think there's no chance? He may not have been the best, but he did lead the nation in rushing.

The blowback will be deserved but when I read it I immediately connected it to Jackson's comments about the Cavs owner and the "kill the crackers" comments from that moron from the NBPP.

I don't understand... do people think he is trying to disparage Steinbrenner?

Are people really offended by the word Cracker?

It's always amusing to see liberals whining about Fox news being a right-winged station when both MSNBC and CNN are so left that it's not even funny.

Wake up and take the blinders off.
