Limbaugh loses his mind

You really think there's no chance? He may not have been the best, but he did lead the nation in rushing.

led the nation on a 8 win team that is not a tradational powerhouse. hell cal had a guy rush for 2,000 yards in 2004, team won 10 games and was ranked in the top-5 all of the regular season, and he didn't even sniff the top 5 in heisman voting. anyone thinking he didn't significantly benefit by being the "smart white guy from stanford" is in denile.

Maybe so, but that doesn't mean he definitely didn't deserve a top 5 finish. Players like him (players on bad/mediocre teams) should get invited more often if they're deserving. I'll agree that the smart, white guy thing had a lot to do with him being an exception.

i agree he was deserving, but the heisman is a popularity contest and not based on merit.

Why did Limbaugh have to call him a cracker and why did he have to refer to the African-Americans he made into multimillionaires? I mean, if his point was really that Steinbrenner is an example of a businessman who made many people around him wealthy by working hard and investing in the team and the franchise, and if his point is that it would be a shame to have the estate tax take some of that, then why does he need to use those terms to describe it?

Didn't he make white people that worked for and with him wealthy, as well?

Why does Limbaugh feel compelled to mention it in these terms?

I think that is why its offensive. It is using the man's death to take a swipe at those who disagree with RL's political philosophy and it suggests strongly that RL sees a number of issues through this lens, which is disturbing.

it is a fair question. why did he mention the african-americans specifically? doesn't make sense.

It does if you are preoccupied with the topic and are insinuating that the African-American players got/get more than they deserve.

I don't know about "disturbing" but agree there was no need to take this swipe at his opponents in this way.

It's clear though he was mocking Jackson and those that are minimizing groups like the NBPP.

Wrong time and venue though.

It's a shot at the race baiters - Jackson, etc. Not a shot at AA players.

Of course by doing this he is race baiting so it defeats the purpose.

That was my original point -- setting aside politics just kind of an awful context for the comments.

agreed. this was obviously related to the lebron james slave comment by jackson. not sure why people expect reason 24/7 out of a guy who has to fill a 3 hour radio show every day. that's a lot of talking out of your arse.

how is he insinuating htat they got more than they deserve?

1. Fired white people.
2. Made African-Americans rich.
3. Democrats, led by black president and beholden to black people generally, will now try to pass a bill to retroactively impose massive tax on his estate and take the team from his heirs.

You don't see his point?

He's losing his touch.

me thinks you read WAY too much into what hte man says. once again. he needs to fill 15 hours a week of airtime.

If he's talking specifically about A-rod then maybe he does mean someone got more than they deserved.

heaven forbid that a guy making his living based upon ratings numbers would pull a "look at me" stunt.

I nominate Rasputin to be the official LG mod. Follow the gator wherever he posts and funnel his myriad inanities into a single thread.
