yeah, because the taxpayers of Mississippi should be funding jazz and theater projects in Baltimore
The NEA is being used by Obama to create propaganda kind of like how PBS is used in the same capacity.
Tell that to the parents of young band students admiring the talents of a top notch musician made possible by the NEA.
Guess I should go toss my trumpet in the Tennessee River, then. Seeing as how it's a tool for evil and all.
what's sad is that you can't play the trumpet without the gov giving you money? really?
Never said that. You assumed it. Funding for the arts is being decimated all over the country. School band, chorus, and theater departments are having a hard time affording anything these days and have to rely more and more on fundraising that still can't cover the costs. It would be nice to know that someone would still care this stuff before it goes the way of the dodo bird.

Should then cut funding for sports by your reasoning, too.

many of them (along with PE) are already being cut and funded by parents. As fat as kids are today I don't think it should be first. If you want to be in the band do what athletes do- practice after school. We're falling to far behind to worry about whether the glee club is funded well enough

got to cut somewhere.
