Kentucky - Joker Phillips
Arkansas - John Smith
Southern Miss - Ellis Johnson
Illinois - Tim Beckman
Purdue - Danny Hope
Colorodo - Jim Embree
Cal - Jeff Tedford

UTEP - Mike Price
Western Michigan - Bill Cubit
USC - Lane Kiffin(???)
NC State - Tom O'Brien
Boston College - Frank Spaniani

All these vacancies, unless we have someone pretty much wrapped up, Hart better call Bobby Petrino now before it's too late.

I understand that Petrino is one of the best, if not the best, on the field coaches, but I believe very strongly that attendance would take a very major hit if he is hired here. He may do very well at other places, but just not here. That may be a major shame, but it just is what it is.

1st big win, all will be forgiven. Stadium full, contenders again, it's only a risk if he doesn't win, which can be said about anyone we hire.

Agree. I think he gets another year. They are staring at 7-6 without Barkley for the bowl game.

I dont know that QB that played against ND is gonna be a good one. Just needs snaps. Kid has a stronger arm than Bray and not many do.

Many Mizzou insiders say that Gary Pinkel is gone too.

I think Kiffin's good--daddy's not...yeah as far as the coaching search we've got to strike soon and we will.

If you had been following Mizzou then you would know that Pinkel is on thin ice with Mike Alden. Alden wants Pinkel to make changes on his staff and Pinkel is more loyal than Fulmer ever was.

You also have a situation where it is being leaked that Pinkel is considering retiring too. He is getting s divorce and has knocked up his network weather girl girlfriend. She wants him to spend time with the baby.

If we are willing to stoop to the scum level and offer Petrino, why not bring back Phil. Look at the comparisons according to the folks on here. They can't recruit worth a dam, they get pounded by rivals, and they win the cupcake games. Only difference is that Phil has integrity and dignity.

If we hire a nice guy with a squeaky clean record and he loses, he will be fired and alienate the fan base again. If Petrino gives us anything like the seasons Phil did in his years he will be loved by most everyone in Knoxville. There is huge support even for Phil now to be rehired, we need wins, Petrino gives us the best opportunity.

Petrino never could recruit. Add that with his recent past and sit down with parents and their kid. He would do more harm here than good.

I live in Missouri and follow them a bit, because they are local. People are disappointed in Mizzou's finish but there is no talk of Pinkel being gone. If you follow Mizzou, you realize that he has done more for that football program than anyone to get it to a competitive level. They will not fire him after one bad year.

I do agree with that 100%, but then I would argue he does more with less.

Ok so you are 100% hindered with 4 and 5* recruits. So you have to go after 3* recruits with him as coach. Mom and Pop of 5* are no different than mom and pop of 1*. If he is the coach, I just see us literally tanking our program. He can do more with less, but from now on, he is going to be struggling to recruit the "less"

I see your point, and somewhat agree. Can I ask you, do you never talk to him no matter how far down the list you get? It's my opinion that if he gets a couple of wins in games against recruiting rivals it will help flip recruits, and if he is progressing yearly soon the focus will come more into University and UT tradition that Petrino's past. Don't get me wrong sir, he isn't my first choice, but I would take him above many listed so far.
