Alan Houston was friends w/ a guy on my high school team and used to come to our hs gym once in a while and school us on Sunday nights
Richard Howard went to UT as an OL but I don't think he graduated from there... maybe he did... played hoops against him in high school.
Shane Carnes singlehandedly put my hs team out of the substate and he went on to UT as well, as did another kid whose name I've forgotten off of that '91 Science Hill team

I played baseball against Barry Booker who now does TV broadcasts of SEC basketball. I played on the same team with David Weathers. At just almost 37 he still pitches for the Reds. He's not very famous but he pitched in the World Series fot the Yankees, the Indians, and pitched some during the season the year that Toronto won the Series. How many people can say that?

Al Wilson--and the rest of those STACKED 95-96 JCM teams

Tyrone Hines (or maybe Dexter, I can't remember)-- Haywood teams of the same era

also saw Tony Delk play around the same time.

Wrestled alongside ( on the same summertime club) as Rampage Jackson, who handed Chuck Liddell (UFC golden boy) his a$$.

Played alongside Shawn Marion and Trenton Hassell. Played against Brandon Wharton, Isaih(spelling) Victor, B. Wharton, Hathaway, Yarborough, T. Harris all former Vols. Also Ron Mercer, his buddy Drew Maddux, Oliver Simmons, and a few more I am sure I am leaving out.
On the AAU circuit competed against many quality foes. Spent two high school summers in Tidewater VA, opponents include: A. Iverson, Tony Rutland, Joe Smith, and some I am leaving out.

Chris Gettlefinger...Bert Bertelkamp....Elston Turner ....Mike Coffer This is interesting....I went against a 6'8" certer that played either at Austin East or Rule...can't remember which but his name was Elvis Presley.

I was too small to play. One of my closest friends was starting center and had to face up against Reggie White(Howard High) on the other side of the line. Ole Reggie'd bust his butt about six yards straight backwards every play, then bend over and help him up and say "sorry man". It was a long night at center....

I still laugh thinkin' how Reggie abused him... :lol:

OU is my 2nd favorite team, but I always wondered what Keith Jackson would have done in college if he had played somewhere that threw the ball occasionally.

I actually played with Keith in High School. I was shocked when he passed up on Arkansas. He told me he got a “better offer” from OU. This was back when Lou Holtz was at Arkansas and he was turning everybody else in for cheating. No one believed that Lou was playing his players. Seems kind of naive now.

Keith was a good guy. Big into the FCA.

For at least 3/4 of the season we were the only team he gave up and earned run to
