But looking in the future not knowing what kind of "Zook" coach you may get will not win you games either.

Why EVER make a change then?

What I haven't figured out is how to put a season like this behind you if you play on this team. In some ways a new head coach would have a better opportunity to do that.

At least they would give hope of a change.

You can't comparing the ZOok situation to this....Zook never won a NC or coached 13 yrs before having a bad yr...he took the program back and didn't improve in 3 yrs...huge difference. BTW, this is what sent Spurrier packing...unobtainable expectations from some of the fans.

"changes have been and will be made"

Sorry I failed to read all of your post correctly. Your right about the changes made. right now being this far down in the dirt it's hard to stick by the coach when the team is this bad.

I have up until now. I am not calling for CPF's head, and don't think that is realistic. But this has been the most dissapointing football season that I have been through. I just do not know how you put a season like this behind you with out a complete change.

Lex..I went through this the past 3 yrs..Vol fans are spoiled..just like UF fans are/were...plain and simple. No flame..just a fact.

No flame...I understand. Fact of the matter is no one can stay on top forever, and we had a good run. I am afraid that CPF has burned everything in the tank. I also don't know if he is smart enough to get this thing turned around.

I will definately appreciate the good times more...the next time they come around. I just don't see them anywhere in sight.

two words: Joe Pa

Are you telling me to become a Penn State fan?

Just kidding. Jo Pa also made wholesale changes to his coaching staff. UT has been competitive in all but one game this year. That is what I will hold on to.

And if next year is anywhere close to this one, I'll be leading the chorus to get rid of Fulmer, but I think he gets one more season.

It is my earnest hope that we don't have to strike up the band.

And it is not like we are going to just be throwing Fatty into the street. He will get picked up by someone as an OL coach. He can still perform some functions, but he is too old school to understand everything that is going on around him.

Also, LexVol, did you all try to get Bobby to take a visit when you played with him. I like him a lot and have heard he is a really good guy.

Hey maybe is we hire Petrino, he can keep Fatty as the OL coach.

And Fulmer needs to do the same, AND he needs to let them do their jobs. Having said that, Fulmer needs to stay.

question why would you throw away next year to give fulmer a chance when the team looked worse as the season went along. i have to disagree. fulmer had a chance a couple of years ago to make changes and he didn't. it's time for him to pay up on his blunder.

Sanders is gone, and so are others :cross: . I seriously don't think next year is a throwaway. Cut is, in all likelihood, coming back. It's not like Fulmer is not a proven winner.

He's won 80% of his games and a NC!

In his first 92 games we lost only 15. BUT, In the last 48 we have lost 15. It's a program in decline. What does it matter what we did 7 years ago? We haven't won the SEC in 7 years.

i hope your right, but i think next year will be a throw away if fulmer is around. he has no idea how to fix this and he don't have a manning waiting in the wings. i personally don't think CUT will have all that big of impact.

UF hasn't won in 5...and it does matter what he did 7 yrs ago...so, you would want them to take back the NC and all those big wins during his tenure at UT?

And thankfully, you aren't in any position whatsoever to have any effect on our team changes

Wheh! :birgits_giggle:
