Those reasons are so lame. The only one worth noting is his lack of college experience. As far as stability, Jon would remain committed at least until he found some measure of success. The administrative team will make sure there is a large buyout clause in his contract. He wouldn't leave this program in turmoil like Kiffen did. Recruiting will be a strong point with Gruden and would continue to be as long as he gets the program going in the right direction. As far as scheme, you're talking about Jon Gruden, one of the best X's and O's guys in the country. Rest assured he is not limited to a west coast offense. That was his preference in the NFL because that was a popular/successful style of offense that many teams weren't familiar with. The Eagles were having tremendous success with it during his era so it made sense to use that style of offense. As far as him being to difficult to play for, Nick Saban is pretty difficult to play for. That works out pretty good for him.

The only thing besides him not having college coaching experience that is pause for concern is his lack of success in the last 6 years of his NFL career. He had one big moment in winning the superbowl but then the team went in the toilet, similar to what happened to Fulmer after he won his NC. That's the main reason why Tennessee might not consider Gruden. But at the end of the day, the pluses way outweigh the minuses, so I say if you can get him, get him.

Yeah I am sure that hiring a Rockstar coach would be a terrible fit. These people are tools to try to come up with reasons he would fail. If UT can manage to get him UT will be right back on the map again. You dont have to hire him because you think hes a great coach. You hire him because you know hes a solid coach and his name will bring big time recruits. Can you imagine the QB's that are going to line up to be here? I am not sure we will get him. Although there is no way possible hes a bad fit.

He compared Gruden to Brian Kelly at ND. He said if you have ever watched Kelly turn 3 different shades of red on the sidelines due to him being so frustrated by his QB not doing what he tells them to do, then you might see the same in Gruden. He said Gruden would be really tough on a QB. Maybe so tough, a young player would just shut down and not play very well for him out of fear of messing up.

Sounds to me like he would be good for Bray. :)

I guess he didn't notice Notre Dame is ranked #1 right now; and that his last year at Cincy Kelly had them undefeated before he left.

If he's going to say Gruden is bad fit then compare him to Kelly as some kind of proof, then yes, he's officially reaching (and not really making a good point anyway).

depressing list.....a lot of 'small' names...another LaTech coach???? Oh hell no!
IMO, one of the worst would be David Dudcliff.
Why no John Chavis.....he's one of the only reason that moron at LSU still has a job; for that matter, he is the reason that Phillip was successful for so long at UT. Not saying he would be my top choice, but better than most names on this dudes list.
