He's been looking alright from the little I've seen frmo him, but I just start watching at 3:20. He doesn't seem to be jumping as high or even trying.

Aj Davis' spin move looks superb.

I'm loving the reports that keep coming out about AJ. It'll help Maymon down the stretch if he has a competent backup to split minutes with.

27/7 article thanks to SJA, just posting here because a lot seem to be curious on Maymon's welfare.

Maymon watch

"Martin told us again over the weekend that Maymon is playing all the time and without any limitations, and his explosiveness is virtually identical to what it was before the injury, so they don’t expect him to miss any time during practice."

"The only thing Maymon won’t do, in some cases, is run sprints with the team after practice. He’ll do some of his post-practice conditioning on the bike or somewhere else."

"As far as normal, in-practice running, though, the plan is to treat Maymon like everyone else, because he has to get back in basketball game shape,"

"Maymon doesn’t want any special treatment, either, so this seems good for everyone involved."

"Several players have told us Maymon looks exactly the way he looked before the injuries, so we’re eager to see whether that’s really the case."

"Maymon gets after Stokes mentally and physically the way few other players on this level are capable of doing."

Alright so practice is over, I said I'd post some notes/thoughts so here goes. Glasses are tinted a bit orange right now so try and look past that...

*Barton during ball handling drills looked good, balls stays low to the ground and on his finger tips. Definitely appears better than golden in that area.

*Thought it was interesting that they were doing alley oop drills early. Martin has mentioned it a couple times that golden didn't look for it, I'm guessing we will see some this year.

*we haven't been able to watch past practices except one or two, so maybe I'm wrong, but to me the pace seemed fast. Really pushing uptempo style which would lead me to believe Martin wants this team to run when the opportunity is there.

*Maymon stepped right in as the vocal leader out there, very vocal all through practice and talking to every player to help them out.

*Nic says that Stokes will be playing 10-15 pounds lighter than last year which should help his speed and explosiveness.

*Seems reports are accurate that Barton seemingly has been there all along. Already has great chemistry with the guys, he was very complimentary in a leadership way towards anyone that excelled in a drill.

*chemistry seems to be great and Nic touched on it as well in the broadcast. Says these guys are all very close and have bonded together like no other team.

*Q and Reese were working with the bigs, so it appears those guys future is in the post.

*Pops and Maymon were hitting mid range jumpers on curl and back screen drills. Wasn't surprised by Maymon really, but to see pops hitting 18 footers was a surprise.

*towards the end of practice they did a timed defensive slide drill...Richardson not surprisingly had the fastest time, Barton came in 2nd only about .2 seconds slower.

GBO!

Pops looks like he will contribute for us this year with the back up minutes. Looks like he runs the floor well. He def has the body to contribute.

I like how CCM always was giving Hubbs advice. No yelling just instructing how to do better at a drill. He'll put Hubbs in the position to succeed.

If we can get a solid 12-15 minutes a game out of Pops were in good shape.

I watched most of the practice yesterday and thought it was pretty cool. They looked pretty good for the first day of practice IMO.

Noticed Hubbs wearing the shoulder wrap on his left arm. Anybody know if he has had problems with that before or is he wearing it just to wear it?

Never gonna get that image out of my mind of Coach Martin saying "Good Good Good Good Good Good" with that piece of paper shoved into the front of his pants flopping around. lol

There was one part of practice where Martin kept saying "It's your favorite part of practice" or something like that and he was walking right up to some one and it looked like he had both hands crammed way down his pants. I didn't know what he was doing at the time but it seemed so creepy until I realized he was just stuffing that paper into his pants.

Tell me I'm not the only one who saw this and got weirded out for a sec.

I like how CCM calls all the players by their nickname. You can tell all the players respect him. He seems like a coach you can have fun with, but at the same time you know he's all business and he'll let you know real quick you're doing something wrong. Also it's it's cool that they play music during practice and Joddy is ALWAYS dancing haha.
