Butch Jones hasn't has enough time to wash the "Stank of Dooley" off of these players yet. Any other SEC team except maybe Kentucky would of had Florida down 28-0 after that 1st quarter Saturday. But leave it to the "Stank of Dooley" to find away to turn the ball right back over to the Gators and look stupid doing it. It is like Murphy's Law for football...all that can go bad and wrong will and will never stop. Or you can also call it the "Legacy of Dooley" too if you choose.

I will agree with you that Dooley did not recruit the best players;however, CBJ should have pulled Peterman WAY earlier than he did and you cannot blame Dools for that.

saying we have no talent is stupid.

True. We have little depth & no *developed talent. We *do have talent out there with potential for great things to come. I mean, no depth distracts from the fact that more than half our starters are 4*. Just little development under Dooley regime. Imagine AJ Johnson under a diff staff. The guy should be a stud. Instead, he seems to still be learning the LB position.

Pained me to see Michael Taylor playing so well. Used to be committed to us. Kiffin ****ed that one up.

when zook was fired, my friends and i debated how long it would take to "wash the zook off".

Sorry but I'm seeing so much negativity on this board as of late that I am absolutely astounded. Where have you been since 2007? It takes more than 2 games against inferior opponents to start beating the big boys again with a new coach. Volnation is so fickle, I'm amazed. I thought you guys would give Jones a chance. He has ZERO talent. Give him a two-three years and realize that this is not the Tennessee of the 90s anymore. Yes, we have fallen that far. Sorry to break it to you.

Also OP the first step to get the "Stank of Dooley" off of Team 117 is for them to start thinking and believing they are going to win every game despite the lack of talent. Butch Jones believes they can win every game despite it....it is why the phrase "upset victory" even exists.

you must have me confused with someone who is saying florida is a good football team right now.

Good team, bad team, great team, rotten team.... Florida always has and evidently always will beat Tennessee.

Pulled him probably but trying to show the kid and other youth on the sideline he wants to believe in them...that they can get the job done is a deeper message being sent to the team...and future recruits than just living in the now. Although it may of cost us a game it was sending a message that he isn't going to pull a player after 1 or 2 mistakes....when he finally starts one of the frosh QB's later this season they don't need to have that fear in their heads too....jmho.

Some people are so delusional it's a miracle they are able to find their way to and from work without a GPS.

That's why I believe we are on the right track too. I was in no way being negative to team 117 or Butch Jones in saying that we as fans shouldn't have expected to win. All I was saying was that people on VN need to realize that it's going to be quite a while before we can compete at the level we used to.

Then at the end of the day while you aren't laughing at least you aren't crying, right? I've learned that even though I love UT football, taking it too serious these days is detrimental to your health.

I agree. Its not like my entire life has sucked since 2008. I just want to see my team start winning again.

All this gets much easier to deal with when you realize that at the moment beating MTSU would be a challenge. I think it is much easier to say we do not have the talent as opposed to saying the players have the talent but will not deliver on it.

I thought we could win. Actually we would have had a good chance if Worley had played the whole game.

Gotta a question tho...how is thinking we have a chance against florida equal not giving CBJ a chance?

To the OP, watching that game, it's obvious UF isn't very good. I'm not even all that impressed with their defense, though it's hard to say too much when they lost several in the secondary.

Point being while I was pretty sure we'd lose, had we played better, UF was prime for a loss.

Ok maybe ZERO talent was a bit harsh. I will say that we have talent, just zero experience and little depth. Also, I'm not laughing about losing, I'm laughing at the people who are already calling for the dogs on Jones. There's a big difference.

If your not laughing about losing to fla then you need to go back and read you 1st post on this thread. You said "LMAO" . Pretty stupid statement coming from a doctor

What? Their defense was the only thing I was impressed with

Regardless of what you thought before the game... it was a winnable game... and he does NOT have zero talent. Again, it was winnable but the coaching decisions and some critical plays kept it from happening.

Live to fight another day.
