Local LA Channel Interview with Scroggins

Some of the posts in this thread remind me of the guy at the bar whose overtures are declined. His disappointment quickly turns to resentment, and he follows with a few choice expletives describing how he didn't really want to dance with her anyway.

he has a season of football coming up this fall, and the glow of being a Trojan hasnt worn off yet. after that, i wonder if the reality that he may not play a game for 4 or 5 more years will set in.. he will also have to contend with the studs that come behind him. i think that would be the case at UT, also, but he would at least have a likely chance for some game experience before that happens. just a flat out terrible decision.

fyp :)

The dew is not off the rose yet for him. He hasn't realized that he has likely played his last game of organized football.... But, HE made the decision..

Wonder if his parents got a new home recently?

Wonder if Mark Sanchez called him or he just happened to see him on the USC campus? If he called, Jesse coulda just called his team out on a violation?

OMG! Can we please move on with this racial stuff? I mean now Pete Carroll is telling kids that if he comes here it can improve race relations! How many black kids play for USC? Talking to Mark Sanchez about coming to USC. Funny thing is wasnt PC telling Sanchez it was a mistake to go to the NFL early? I wish the kid luck!

I'm sorry folks, but this kid is exactly the type of high-caliber young person we want to recruit to Tennessee. The interview was very telling, because it exposed the types of recruiting spin that Pete Carroll has mastered. Right now USC has great STORIES to tell. That whole business about Sanchez sitting on the bench 3 years then getting 56 million and a first round pick shows Carroll and Co know what hot buttons to push. We just need a little patience because Kiffin will have the same kinds of great stories after this season because we Will be a winner again, the offense WILL be drastically improved and we WILL be more competitive in our biggest games. That is all the ammo that Kiffin and Orgeron need to go get that high-level QB we have been needing. Don't start calling these kids names because they didn't pick us. Recruiting is a very individual art form and USC figured out what would work on Scroggins. Next year we will get whatever QB we want.

WHY ARE WE STILL TALKING ABOUT HIS KID??........LET HIM GO TO SC AND QUIT TAKING THE BAIT FROM THE TWO SC FANS THAT APPARENTLY LIKE TO STILL COME OVER HERE AND GLOAT. THIS IS OLD OLD NEWS.
LET IT GO LOUIE.....LET IT GO
the kid did what he thought was best for him overall. good luck. end of story.

This thread makes me lose even more faith in humanity.

Slob all over him one minute, and attack him the next.

Gloat? I am one of the few who said that I did not believe the hype about the kid and after watching him in person, I still do not.

He and his dad did a great job in marketing and getting JS's name out there. Heck, there was over 10,000 post on this board alone.

I do find it funny how much people hate on the kid even though it was non stop JS talk for weeks on this board..

I am very respectful of this board and the UT fans

I hope my posts aren't part of what's being called hate.

Several of my posts in his thread related to how he'd struggle to find time at SC. That's not saying he isn't talented but is a testament to the talent SC already has and is destined to attract.

Nothing hateful intended.

It's just not a great class of QB's so it's easy to overrate oneself by looking at rankings within the class. It's an understandable mistake.

But, move on, VN. He's a Trojan.

If he wants to play he will have to pull a BJ!!!!!

Scroggins > Coleman...

But I agree that he won't play anytime soon at USC. However, from that interview, it sounds like Scroggins knows he'll have to wait, and he's apparently OK with it.

Pete even pulled the race card with Scroggins..Talked about how a black QB at SC will help bring the black community back together in Southern California

I think pulling the race thing out may be a little much. But that didn't keep the kid home. It was his family. You can tell the kid wants to be near his dad and brothers/sisters. He grew up pulling for SC. You can't blame him for chasing his dream. He didn't say anything negative about UT he liked us. I wish him the best. Hope he does well.

You seem to be a classy dude, tell me how if feels to have a 4* QB, that you could take or leave?

We haven't had that problem lately.

Good luck to the kid, hope he made the right choice.
He doesn't deseve the trashing, move on.

I feel sorry for this kid. He is a good guarterback, but he will be a practice squad dummy for 4 years at USC! [BAD CHOICE]
