The regular season is over after a long, tough, grueling season for the Lady Vols. The team now looks ahead to the NCAA tournament with a lot at stake.
I’m confident in this LV team to compete and give themselves a chance in the NCAA tournament.
The truth is when March Madness kicks off for the LVs they will be a completely different team then they were before the regular season ended.. even since losing All-American J. Horston. That’s not necessarily a luxury but last night was a great foreshadowing into what the future holds in Tennessee. That’s before the arrival of 4⭐⭐⭐⭐️ ESPN Top 100 PG Jasmine Powell and 5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐️ ESPN Top 15 Wing Justine Pissott arrival!
I was locked in 🔒 the moment I saw Karoline Striplin, Kaiya Wynn, and Brooklyn Miles compete at a high level on the biggest stage of WBB in the SEC tourney. They are the real deal.
I was locked in 🔒 the moment I saw Rae Burrell bust jumper after jumper in the face of defenders who couldn’t stop our shooter in the SEC tourney! She’s fought back. She’s ready.
I was locked in 🔒 when I saw Alexus Dye go for a 2nd consecutive double double in front of thousands that are just witnessing how dynamic this player is. She will be a force in the NCAA tourney.
Every other LV from Walker, Darby, Key, Puckett, and others have shown that right now they’re locked in🔒.
I’ve said it before Twitterverse is where I base my perception of Tenn from the outside and it’s nothing like VolNation.
The LVs have great talent. The LVs have sound coaching and recruiting!
At this point, I see greatness in the LVs future. Locked in 🔒.

Alexus Dye loves tournament I will bet she will have a double double in every game we play. Think Rae should be good to go with a weeks rest her shooting has somewhat returned then we gotta pray Jordan elbow is good to go.

Can’t forget that our freshmen got some great experience in the SEC tourney!!

Well said. I’ll admit I was upset during the game last night. But I started to reflect on every aspect and the big picture. The LVs are in a good place. That might not be good enough for some people.. yet this is more than a team it’s a family. And when a family sticks together it becomes an unstoppable force.

Well said. This little forum is so rarefied that most of the posters have no clue.

Locked In.

Kaiya is a defensive beast and her offense has most definitely come along at the right time. She’s no longer moving too fast and is controlling her body. She’s also hitting her free throws as of late. Love her attacking mentality.

Brooklyn is an energized bunny out there. Just everywhere and all over the court. She talks on the court and doesn’t mind mixing it up with the big girls. She’s not “fast” but shes pretty quick and solidly built.

Karoline. Idk where this has come from but she’s really impressed me the last few games with her energy on the boards and offensively. The freshmen as a group have a very good chemistry when they’re on the court together and understand their roles. They get Karo the ball in hood position to make something happen.

Sara is Sara. She needs to keep the confidence to put the shot up everytime she has space but she makes good things happen when she’s on the court. She just makes good happen lol nothin else to say.

Rae has been doing Rae things. Unfortunately yesterday there were calls she didn’t get but she’s clutch. She’s shown is a one of the best two way players in the nation and looks to be hitting her stride. Rest up and get even healthier.

Alexus played out of her mind this weekend. The boards, the offense, the energy. She was out here playing her way into a draft pick.

Walker did a good job running the point. She hit shots when we needed them, drives into the line to create contact when we need it(a couple of times it’s been called a charge 🥴), and defends her man well. So happy we get her back.

Tess has hit a point in her development where if she’s here for 3 additional years, the Sky is the limit with regards to what she could do here. She’s a great representative of the team and on the court has become less one dimensional. Getting on the glass, scoring inside the arc, getting to the lane/line… go Tess.

Tamari. We will go as far as she takes us. TK has the potential offensively to keep teams on their toes but I notice she posts up so hard and because these players aren’t her size she’s getting called for fouls left and right. If she could play straight up and just turn and shoot, she’d transform the game. Shoot your jumper when you’re open. And keep swatting shots. You’ve proven you’re a top Center throughout the season. Be aggressive again.. you only get potentially 6 more games. Make ‘em count and we know you can!

Jordy, we miss you big head. If she’s able to come back with the way Rae and Alexus are playing along with the development of the freshmen/Tess we’ve had over the last few weeks… could be a good tourney run but.. again if she’s back. If not I think S16 run and then we wait to see..

We better be hosting.

twitter handles I can follow from here?
Your statement about Wynn is what i had been hoping for all season. She was always two steps ahead of herself. The game finally seems to be slowing down for her.

The ladies brought great energy to the SEC tournament. They competed and just happened to catch a blazing hot Kentucky team.

If the Lady Vols get to host and bring that same competitive energy to the big dance, they will, at the very least make a S16 run.

it would not surprise me one bit for the NCAA to send Iowa to Knoxville for the first round ---- a Key vs. Czinano battle in the middle would be interesting to see, but the advantage is to Iowa because they actually know how to get the ball to their center where she can do something with it

P.S. I hope I'm wrong --- Go Lady Vols !

I hope another team with the desire Ky showed this weekend doesn't "lock our ladies in" as Ky did us and SC!!

This Lady Vol team can make a run, would not surprise me to see them get to elite 8 at all!

That’s my hunch. The experience Striplin/Miles/Wynn/Puckett got in the tournament and the trust Kellie had in them will give them confidence. Hopefully the refs in the tournament are more kind to Tamari. A lot of teams outside of the SEC aren’t as quick footed so Tess being in the fire of the SEC should help her have a good tournament. Rae is looking like good. Dye is looking good. Walker has been solid. Wish we had news on Horston… she was in the sling during the tournament but I saw her dribbling a little so who knows 😫

It looks like Rae has turned the corner and will contribute in a major way in the tourney. If Horston can play, I wouldn't count on too much from her. Watching Striplin contribute is a real good sign that maybe we won't be so vulnerable when Key is on the bench. Wynn is improving a lot now, too. Miles can give us more minutes at the pG these days, and that is good for us. It could be that we are peaking now, and this week and next we'll be healing and improving, and getting some needed rest. I'm excited at our chances in the ncaat.

I DO NOT WANT Iowa lol this is horrible for us we can’t go toe to toe with a team like Iowa who has a flamethrower on the roster with a good center lol they are Kentucky 2.0
No way we would face Iowa in Knoxville. They will be a three seed and we'll be at least a four. Both Iowa and Tennessee will be playing at home. Teams that we may meet in that second game would be Oregon, Ohio State, North Carolina, and even Kentucky could be a possibility. Notre Dame could be the one or a team like BYU. Going to be a tough team will not be Iowa they will be playing in Des Moines.

Honestly, I just had to laugh when I saw this poll. I agree Kentucky has been great recently winning 10 in a row. They deserved a spot in the top 25. However, putting them at 16th is ridiculous. This poll in no way indicates the possibility of them being a top 16 seed and hosting the first rounds of the NCAA tourney.

Also, this may not be the right place for this conversation but it seems like UConn is getting put in position to be the 2 seed in Bridgeport which is a likely place for us to be the 3rd seed. We’ll see what happens though.
