Locked In šŸ”’ NCAA Tournament Edition

Honestly, I just had to laugh when I saw this poll. I agree Kentucky has been great recently winning 10 in a row. They deserved a spot in the top 25. However, putting them at 16th is ridiculous. This poll in no way indicates the possibility of them being a top 16 seed and hosting the first rounds of the NCAA tourney.

Also, this may not be the right place for this conversation but it seems like UConn is getting put in position to be the 2 seed in Bridgeport which is a likely place for us to be the 3rd seed. Weā€™ll see what happens though.

When i saw KY at 16 i said WT Blank

It looks like Rae has turned the corner and will contribute in a major way in the tourney. If Horston can play, I wouldn't count on too much from her. Watching Striplin contribute is a real good sign that maybe we won't be so vulnerable when Key is on the bench. Wynn is improving a lot now, too. Miles can give us more minutes at the pG these days, and that is good for us. It could be that we are peaking now, and this week and next we'll be healing and improving, and getting some needed rest. I'm excited at our chances in the ncaat.

I agree with everything except Jordy. Itā€™s her non-shooting arm and considering the competitor she is.. if she gets a chance to be in the court I donā€™t see her backing down. Maybe not as many rebounds(plus Dye has seemingly put that on her back so a down tick from Horston is still improvement from where we are) but her being out there alone is enough. The freshmen look postseason ready. They looked like they belonged.

Way too much optimism here for my tastes......

When you look at how the freshman played in the tournament, how can you not be excited about the future of this program. I just ignore the naysayers who constantly down our coaches and players. This team showed some grit and guts in the SEC Tournament. I believe this will carryover to the NCAA tournament. If Dye, Burrell play like they did in the two SEC tournament games and the team continue to play good D, we have a chance to do some good things in the NCAA tournament. If luck has it that Horston can come back for the NCAAs that is an added plus. With the way Striplin played I have more confidence if she has to come in to replace TK. This young lady is going to be a beast.

Jasmine Powell picked Tennessee over Louisville, Alabama, Ole Miss, and Baylor. I just read another poster say they arenā€™t sure if Powell is consider a ā€œeliteā€ recruit or not. At this point, that kind of nonsense is just a distraction. People see Tennessee is back and they simply wonā€™t to smear any and every major accomplishment! Locked In šŸ”’!

Wow, out of context much? A smear? I said, in a post extremely complimentary of Powell, that I don't know if she's considered an elite recruit but that she was a great pick up and complimented the staff for the get!

The words 'elite', 'talent' and 'potential' are overused and meaningless to me regarding recruits. Also subjective. That was the point.

You're putting in the work looking for insults. None occurred.

I couldnā€™t care less about it. Just like thereā€™s a sector of folks waiting for every opportunity to ā€˜smearā€™ every single major accomplishmentā€¦ Iā€™m coming full force to show excitement about the extremely bright future of the LVs.

Just like there's a sector of folks waiting to misinterpret and miscommunicate and spew false information in order to show full force excitement for their locked in agenda. And couldn't care less to correct it even when pointed out as completely untrue,

Post truth world. But stay locked in!

Creme has us playing Charlotte in the open NCAA game at home then the winner of Missouri State and Ohio State. I don't expect this to be totally correct, but if so we would then be matched up against his number two in the region Baylor. Then if somehow we won that then most likely Louisville. I really don't see an easier way to the final four than this would be. I'm not sure were a three seed and keep thinking we could end up in Greensboro or Bridgeport as a four seed. I'm hoping he is right. I don't think there is a better draw than what he is showing right now for the Lady Vols.

You think Baylor in the S16 is an easy matchup? Smith and their guards would tear them apart.

No team is tearing Tennessee apart in the NCAA tourney if this team can avoid further injuries or miraculously get Jordy back at some point.
With two weeks to practice, I really hope the staff can get Striplin in a defined role. She had an impressive game against Kentucky. That was very promising for the future.

Alabama did just that WITH Jordan. They still haven't adjusted to losing Keyen, let alone Horston.

No not easy but still the best regional to get to the final four. I think Louisville is the weakest number one seed. I think Baylor is the best team in that regional. NC St would be the second pick, but if they have UConn I think that makes that region a little tougher. If no UConn that might be the best place to be.

Think it was a typo. They had Maryland listed twice in Bloomington and College Park

The latest Charlie Creme bracketology looks to be way off what I'm seeing. Baylor may very well get to a one seed with a win today don't think they are one now and certainly not if they lose. He moved LSU from a two to a three and they haven't played still look to have as good a resume as Texas. I think were a four seed hope he is right that we are a three. I really don't think his brackets are that competent we'll see soon.

I donā€™t like the fact that there is so much time between the end of the season and the tournament. It may be a benefit this year if it gives Horston an opportunity to return but generally I donā€™t like the lag time. Got to bang the rust off in the opening tournament game.

It seems every year a team that was red hot before the NCAA tourney will get beat in the first round and a team that looked dead in the water will go on a run.
