Try to cut McBee a little slack, people. He got some hype from people that don't know a lot about basketball. Many people, it seemed, wanted a dead eye three point shooter, and projected their emotions onto him. It is not like he is cocky or a jerk. He gets playing time because we need him to play. He is not a talented player, and should stay a walk-on, but he loves the big-orange as much as I do.
Please stop comparing him to Loften, seriously. He will never measure up if you do this.
post of the dayThere was just too much hype surrounding McBee's ability to shoot 3's coming out of high school. It was obviously overblown ... and it's not McBee's fault he was getting all the hype. A comparison to Lofton isn't fair.
So, based on the hype, it's a little disappointing that he can't seem to shoot any better than a decent shooter playing pick-up games at the local YMCA -- at least so far, anyway.
Truth is ... he's probably a lot better than his current numbers indicate, but not as good as the hype. He probably just needs more confidence. That'll come with time.
Unless he reads message boards ...
