what do you guys think will happen? will he live up to the hype or be a bust?

Joey Logano is legal. Now let the hype begin for NASCAR's most talked-about young driver. Joe Gibbs Racing unveiled a giant birthday cake and owner Joe Gibbs sang to Logano, who turned 18 on Saturday. That makes him eligible to compete in the Nationwide Series, and Logano will make his debut next weekend at Dover in a car sponsored by video game retailer GameStop. "It's a very big day for us," Gibbs said. "I kept telling Joey, 'Cheat. Pay something, move it up, find another birthday.' We couldn't wait to get him on the race track." Logano started racing in quarter-midgets at age 6 and later became the youngest champion in Legends Car history. A month after Gibbs signed the then-15-year-old to the team's development program, Logano won a Hooters Pro Cup race. He continued his success through lower forms of racing, and won an ARCA race earlier this month. "I feel like I'm ready to go out there and win races," Logano said. "I've been waiting on this birthday forever

I saw the first race Joey ever won in the USAR procup tour. I wish Logano well, but I'm more excited at the upcoming opportunities of Trevor Bayne. I first heard him about 4-5 years ago on the Dewey Warren radio show on my way home from school while me and my papaw was listening(I was around 11 at the time). I can't wait to see both these young guys compete in the Nationwide series next season along with Bryan Clausen

Joey is a kid from about 2 miles from my house, and i've seen him run before. Something seems special, i am inclined to think he's the real deal, though he has alot of "Oldest Son in an Italian Family" syndrome, which will be a turn off to lots of fans when he hits the big time.

I am not saying he'll be as good as Gordo was when he broke out of the gate, but the kid is a wheelman. He'll be good from the get go. Of course, he'll be driving a Toyota, so i can't root for him, even though i drive by his house every day on the way to work.

I mean Gibbs sang him happy birthday and jokingly said he wanted Logano to change his birth date... hes already got big shoes to fill, esp. if Tony leaves

Dover's one of the top 5 hardest tracks to drive. I would have waited until the next 3 week stretch of Nashville, Kentucky, and the Mile. Those are all standalone events that are easier to drive

they just showed a piece with Donny Allison, Mark Martin and others calling him the best they've seen come up. It cant just be hype with people like them saying hes great. I like the kid, he just seems like he wants to race... its not his fault the media is blowing this up. I hope he does great, replaces Stewart at JGR and takes all the spotlight off Kyle and Denny
