Tennessee fired two coaches in two sports who had the highest winning percentage of any coach in the last 60 years and has paid/is paying the heavy, heavy price.

Firing Fulmer is one thing because Tennessee has a long history of success in football. But, Delmonico was the only head coach to ever win squat at Tennessee in baseball.

Yep

It is ridiculous that people are blaming the AD for this. We were a dumpster fire and went and hired a guy that had been to multiple CWS. It was a homerun hire at the time. Time will tell if it is ever going to produce homerun results.

I still think it was a homerun hire. I also think many are unrealistic in how long it takes to build a championship level program especially in the SEC.

I also think blowing out coaches, with the success of some that we have, is a bad thing. I really don't understand firing Delmonico. I won't start the debate of whether Fulmer needed to go or not but if you fire a hall of fame coach, you need to have a better solution than Lane Kiffin.

I just disagree with the thought of firing Serrano at this point in time. I think it would set the program back a decade and make us a pariah among any elite coach to replace him. Serrano is pretty darn well respected in college baseball. Who is going to want to take on a program that let him go in three years?

Serrano shouldn't be fired by any means; but I can buy that next year is put up or shut up.

Of course all this is still way too early for this season. A ton of baseball left to play.

I imagine the VolNation message boards would be dull if everyone agreed this is a lost season, or the season isn't lost.
Heck if there was no overreaction including in the NFL I imagine the people with Monday Morning QB for NFL would be out of a job.

Yep first half Of SEC games isn't over but damn come on Vols I do believe that can play better than the garbage they've shown in the last 5 games.
