LOL @ Indiana

Yeah, sucks they rewarded the players with something they get to keep from their time in college and remind them of a special season. Just terrible.

It's Indiana, where standards used to be much higher.

I would say good for them, now they can sell them in 30 years to pay for their kids education like their old coach just did. However, I have to remember that it is a sweet 16 ring.

I do hope that they put one in the same display case as their regular season victory against UK last season, it would be fitting to celebrate such monumental achievements in unison.

Do you think that they got rings for being pre-season #1 also?

Sure, but why not give the kids something to remember the season by. Not seeing how this is a big deal other than you being worthless UK fans.

Maybe you are right, so I will give Indiana this one bit of solace.

An Indiana sweet sixteen ring will be celebrated more and revered to a higher level than anything the University of Ohio could ever achieve, which admittedly is little.

Heaven forbid that Indiana reward the kids who did their part in going through 6-25 (1-17), 10-21 (4-14), and 12-20 (3-15) seasons while emerging from major probation. Surely the paragons of fair play in Kentucky would understand this, what with the way that they make Billy Gillispie sound like he burned down Rupp in order to piss on the ashes.

1) Ohio U has never had to vacate a damned thing.

2) Ohio U's football team has been ranked sometime in the last 25 years.

3) Ohio U is located in the most run-down area of this glorious state, and yet still produces a better education and smells a hell of a lot better than the sinkhole that constitutes Lexington.

You realize they made the Sweet 16 too, right?

When was the last the time Ohio U was ranked in the top 10 in the past 25 years? Oh wait never. As for referring to Ohio as a glorious state, all I have to say is lol.

I agree with OP. How pathetic. It's almost the same as celebrating a win against Vandy...sorta says "We use to be there, now were looking for a reason to get excited"

How soon they forget the unforgettables.

Gallup report of most livable states: Kentucky (48th)
Most obese states: Kentucky (10th-worst)
Most unemployed states: Kentucky (35th). We have Cleveland, Youngstown, and Steubenville, yet have a lower percentage of unemployed than Kentucky.

Suggested new state slogan (by me): "Marginally better than Mississippi, but with crappier food"

Kentucky has 64 colleges and universities, Ohio has 174 (5th-most in the country).

We grow corn to feed the people, as well as the livestock that produces enormous amounts of food. You grow corn to turn into alcohol, undoubtedly to escape from the reality that Kentucky sucks.

We have two NFL teams, two MLB teams, one NBA team, and one NHL team. You have UK basketball, run with a set of ethics that would make the Cincinnati Bengals shake their heads.

Our fried chicken is better than yours.

Kentucky has 226 high schools with football teams, Ohio has 721. We both have six state championships. Ours require running a gauntlet of the best in the state. Kentucky gives everyone a trophy and a state championship for simply being able to gear up without drooling on themselves, which is why 220 schools fall short every year.

Does Kentucky have the most sidewalk alums in the country?

Ohio State is worse, but not by much.

Too many of you completely missed the mark, and I don't care to respond to each of you. Maybe I should try to make a football analogy, as that is the only thing you can relate to.

For a program with undefeated seasons and 5 national titles, sweet sixteen rings are beneath them, I don't care what kids had to go through last season.

It's the same as UT making rings for tying for first in the SEC East, but not playing in the SEC title game.

And I'll always stand by the fact that Ohio is a shathole, especially Cleveland. Skyline chili is the only thing worth salvaging if the state suddenly fell off the face of the earth. Also, judging by the election, that education someone spoke so highly of obviously does not translate to common sense.

I think the only people missing the point here wear blue and white, which is par for the course.

This has nothing to do with "enduring last season". This has to do with a group of kids who were part of a program teetering on the abyss, and they stayed and worked their asses off to prevent it from plummeting. There was no reward to be had, and no chance of a reward, just the possibility that they wouldn't be completely forgotten and cursed. THEY are the reason that there has been an IU revival. They're in the same basic situation that Penn State football is this year. The circumstances that precipitated that are different, but the fallout and the ability to be completely swamped are the same.

Election cracks? Really? We've missed the mark twice since 1892 in presidential elections; we possess something called "Midwestern pragmatism", which stands in stark contrast to the straight-ticket mouth-breathing that has existed in Kentucky since the beginning of time.

Ohio is a great place to stop and get gas and take a dump, before reaching Michigan.

I don't give a d--- about Indiana and what they've endured.

I guess maybe it's easier to relate to enduring losing seasons when for the most part that is your programs history.
