LOL @ Limbaugh

The funny thing is that when I heard Obama's speech last night, I actually told my wife "If I hear him say 'I' one more time, I'm going to start thinking Rush Limbaugh wrote this speech".

For a President, known for being a good public speaker, that speech was weak. Apparently his primary speechwriter took the weekend off.

It could have been much shorter and more direct. We said we'd get him, we got him, don't mess with us. Good night

Do you buy that quote in the least? I found some new respect for Obama for this decision, but I don't buy for a second that he was the lone voice for preservation of evidence here.

Can't afford to buy it... done spent all my money on some ocean front property in Bucksnort.

I didn't think it was particularly memorable either, but to be fair, it probably wasn't an easy speech to write. They were going for just the right tone and wanted to show strength without looking like he was gloating

I agree, not very concise or to the point.

I was wanting something along the lines, "this day will live in infamy" but they don't write them like they used to. This will probably be the most memorable event in his Presidency, besides bankrupting the treasury of course.

Better than I would have. I would have had him decapitated. Then during the press conference:

"Alright, here's the deal. We sent in our best damn men, and we killed the son of a *****. Two shots: One in the chest and square in the head. We got him. He's dead."

(Pulling head behind podium, holding it up)

"Don't **** with the United States of America."

And walked off.

It's hard to say what I would've said if I were president. Unfortunately I do not think we all understand the pressures and demands of being president. I hope that I would've focused more on the incredible efforts of the intelligence community and the military though.

I wish Bush would've given that speech. Dude was golden delivering this type of news. Through all his mispronunciations, you wouldn't have been able to get the smirk off his face...and that would've been nice.

Bush, Chaney, and the GOP leadership in the House and Senate all congratulated Obama and gave him credit for making some difficult choices along the way.

It is evident, however, that a small number of pundits from the right (Limbaugh being by far the most prominent) simply hate Obama so much that they cannot take even just a moment to share in the victory for the country and the world if it also means giving Obama just a nod of appreciation.

I realize it is not Limbaugh's role to be neutral and as I say I expect him a few days later to have some comment critical of Obama at some level. But the day after, when it is sinking in and we are learning just how complex and long-term this was, with the numerous decisions made by Obama and his team, Limbaugh's comments just seem very, very petty.

Petty - like Congressman Ackerman's (D- NY) after the announcement?

"This is the "Mission Accomplished" moment Bush only fantasized about". That was within an hour of the announcement.

I would agree that such a comment coming from a public official was petty, yes.

I've been tracking LGs posts and I think I've figured out his cycle...

He's emotional now but it will pass. Expect a similar post in about 4 weeks.

Limbaugh is a twerp. "I" was only used 10 times in Obama's speech, whereas "our" was used 47 times and "we" was used 40 times. To say that Obama's usage of "I, me, and my" was over the top is silly.

"I" was used at too many critical times when it should have been a "We".

Not giving credit to President Bush was low rent as well.

The worst part about that speech and now the decision on the photos is that they are being used as political tools. The photos will surface when his ratings take a dip.

and here's the left's version. Which one is worse LG?

"So when does Seal Unit 6, or whatever it's called, drop in on George Bush? Bush was responsible for a lot more death, innocent death, than bin Laden. Wasn't he, or am I wrong here?," liberal radio talk show host Mike Malloy said on his show Monday evening.
