True their OOC schedule is a joke, but who else in the running would you think is more deserving? Cincinnati, Boise or TCU's schedules aren't any tougher.
And just asking, but do you think Texas is the #3 (or higher) team in the country, easy schedule or not? I don't know who to rank ahead of them. Cincy may have a decent case if they beat Pitt though.
Texas has a good team. But how good, hard to say, because their most impressive win was over Okie State without its best WR (Dez Bryant) and with its leading rusher banged up. Texas wouldn't be 11-0 if they were in the Pac-10 or SEC... they did not play well early on, but it didn't matter, because they didn't play a ranked team (other than Oklahoma, who obviously was a farce), until October 31 (Oklahoma St.)!
Who is to say that TCU, Cincinnati or Boise St aren't better? Granted, they probably aren't, but thats not the point. Strength of schedules are close to identical
texas - 56
tcu - 60
cincinnati - 65
My resentment evolves from the system we have in place without a playoff. A team with a schedule like texas can sleepwalk through 10 games in its regular season without penalty. A team in the Pac 10 or SEC could easily lose in several games if they don't show up.
Rather than being about who you've beaten, the BCS is more about "just as long as you don't lose..." No motivation to have a difficult schedule if you have title aspirations, and thats just wrong. Bad for the fans.
Is it texas fault? No, but at the same time, I don't like the weak scheduling to be rewarded.
It has essentially put texas in a position where all they have to do to win the national title is beat one legitimately good team (florida or alabama).
