UT has to set that up in his contract.. That is a given. Petrino knows that. He will have something to prove. His next employer absolutely will have the leverage on his a$$.I have a hard time believing there wont be some parents that don't want their child going to Petrino...plus he goes from ship to ship. No loyalty.
No way to Roman. I don't want Davis; but no effin way to Roman.I agree, it's time to end this nonsense. Petrino, Davis or Roman. Go get one of these guys quick.
If we hired Fulmer, I would just as well keep our whole offensive staff and pay out the a$$ for a DC not named Chavis.
I wouldn't want Fulmer to put Chavis in that situation. He is a hell of a man and he has it made at LSU. I wish him the best of luck there. I would love for him to be here, but not in that situation. That's just me though. Not sayin it wouldn't work.I can't see any way Fulmer would be the HC and not at least try to hire Chavis. You hire those you trust and Chavis is considered one of the best there is. I could see keeping Chaney instead of Petrino as OC. It would save us about a half million dollars. My thinking was Petrino could keep his nose clean for 3-4 years and then take over as HC and Phil could retire.
I Agree totally with this.:hi:Kind of a tough call with Petrino. On one hand, he is a damn good coach; however, he is also a slimy POS. The only way I would accept a Petrino hire is if we got him fairly cheap and constructed his contract in a manner that prevented him from easily jumping ship and included some sort of termination clause (ie. do anything stupid like last time and he's gone and the University owes him nothing).
