Stanford's at home tonight at 8:30(time zone?). A chance to test run streaming there game.

I took the 20.00 dollar upgrade to get PAC 10...Maybe there might be a Starz movie or two worth the upgrade for the month....

I agree. What I should have said is the Lady Vols don't have a player that does this on a consistent basis against quality opponents like Megan.
Megan was a turnover machine, poor defender, and jacked up shots from 3 with no one ready to rebound, or having idea she was, and turned into runouts for other team, "Speedy" didn't bother to get back and defend. So tired of Megan lovers, she was talented but her own worst enemy. That is exactly why she never worked in WNBA

I was referring to Megan Walker of UConn not Meighan Simmons, a former Lady Vol.

I hope Coach Kellie can correct the LV's offensive deficiency by tomorrow's game with Stanford. If not, hopefully by the time the LVs play UConn. They can compete with any team if this is corrected. They really miss Zaay.

Yes it is!!! Sorry, but we are still without a pulse.
we are giving up before the party is started over a 6 point loss to Texas? We all knew from the start, or should have, that this year might be a difficult year. How can we judge this team based upon one loss? I still say be patient and give KJH a chance. She is not going to turn this team into a world beater overnight. Are the Lady Vols going to lose tonight, more than likely, however, we need to let the ladies know that we have their backs. They are playing a team with far more talent than we have. We have to hope that the ladies will not throw in the white flag and yell uncle, before the game has started.

Teams reflect the personality of their coach and from what I have seen of her as a player and as a coach, there is no give-up in Kellie!

I agree 100%. The LVs lost to Texas because of the loss of offensive production from Zaay Green. I know this is speculation but they would not have lost with her in the starting lineup. Coach Kellie has done an excellent job with team defense and rebounding. The LVs are 8th and 2nd in nation, respectively. Hopefully, she can improve the team's offense without hurting the team's defense and rebounding.

I come in peace. I'm a long time Stanford fan and regular poster on the Cardboard. Most Stanford fans have the highest respect for your program and hope you succeed every day except the day we play you. I'm showing up on your board today to offer you any insight or answer any questions you might have about the Stanford team. I'm also curious as to what you think your greatest strengths and problems are when confronting the Stanford team. We both have very young teams and so I think tonight's results are unpredictable. I hope we have a good game tonight, that no one gets hurt, and I will wish your program well the rest of the way.

The greatest strength and weakness the Lady Vols will have playing Stanford are the same ones displayed in the loss to Texas. They are strong defensively but weak offensively. The first half of the Texas loss was a anomaly. They miss Zaay Green's offensive production.

Thanks Nute. Yes, that must have been a big loss to lose Zaay. Injuries are the curse of WBB. That is of course how we became the only #1 to ever lose to a #16, now two decades ago.

As for now, we had four out of the Ohio State game--the most significant is Dijonai Carrington who was the leader who powered us over Oregon in the Pac 12 tournament last year. She has been on the verge of coming back for weeks now, and we never know whether Carrington, Dodson, or Lacie Hull is going to dress until we show up for the game and see with our own eyes. You may be catching us with a lot less depth than we would normally have. I worry quite a bit if Lacie, who is our best defender, is out. I had her pegged to help defend Davis or Horsten, and she may not dress.

Gule, we don't have UConn on the schedule, but for thirty years I have rooted for Tennessee to take down Geno. Any day that Geno loses is a great day for both of our programs! I can't stomach the team from ESPN...err..Storrs.

One worry I have as a Stanford fan about tonight is that our three point shooting can be terrific but it also tends to be streaky. I think we need it to be effective or else you can use your superior height and length to make it very difficult to score inside. Your team seems to have a terrific defense and we can't afford to have cold shooting too--you will make it hard enough. But if Jump and Lexie Hull make a few threes it should open things up. I imagine you have exactly the same worries about opening up our defense.

We also have had loads of turnovers lately--just like you have. It probably goes along with a very young team. If one team solves that problem while the other doesn't--then that's the game.

Both we and Stanford turn the ball over several per game because of high-risk/high-reward passes.
Most of our passing TO's that I have seen are because Jaz and Jordan make passes that posts aren't ready for

This happens mostly for two reasons:
The deliverer of the pass waits too long into their move and the posts are already looking for rebounds
or
The posts simply were simply caught unaware that the passer could make such a mind-bending pass

One thing though, if a no-look or a pocket-pass is substituted for a 2-hand thrust pass when a 2-hand thrust pass would have served the same purpose equally...it is the fault of the passer for trying to make a highlight pass out of a basic one.
