Ha... provocative title.

Looking for a Aldila Rogue Silver 60 110 msi - x stiff driver shaft. New, around $300, but from what people have told me, if you know where to look you can get them for sub $150.

I've got a good deal of swing speed (115 mph) and my staff shaft on the original Burner Superfast just can't keep up. Had to get consistent clubhead placement at impact.

Anyone have any ideas how to get one of these shafts at a good price?

I avg about 290 off the tee, and hit an Aldila for the first time today and FLEW it 320. I'd like to do that all the time without borrowing a club.

This will sound bad but..... Nobody looking for discount shafts carries it 320 consistently.

I don't carry it 320 consistently. Carry it about 270-80 consistently. The shot I hit today with that shaft carried 320.

And I'm not looking for a discount shaft. Looking for a high end shaft at a discount (which was recommended by the guy that owns it).

Again, not trying to rain on your parade, but if you're not swinging 120+, the math just doesn't work to fly it that far.

I must swing 120+ then. Last time I had my swing speed measured was 2011 and I've gained some muscle since. You seem to know a lot about it. Do you know anybody in this field I could get in contact with?

I know enough to be dangerous but I wouldn't pretend to be an expert. My thought though is that with a swing speed like that, you owe it to yourself go get on a launch monitor and get fitted with the right specs rather than just guessing based on how you hit it one time. Believe me, I get trying to save some money, but if you hit it like that, it'll be money well spent and you might even find that a less expensive option is the right choice.

Pretty good advice. Definitely helps temper my embarrassing level of excitement after hitting that ball earlier today.

Thanks!

As far as equipment goes this is always my top recommendation

Finally got to hit on a launch monitor today.

Best shot was 354 with 321 carry. Couldn't be happier with the set up.
