Hey Volnation,

Just wanted to stop lurking and say that this board is one of the best UT sites that I've seen on the net. You guys do a great job here!

That said, it will be an interesting game tomorrow. I can't seem to put my finger on the pulse of either team. Will Kentucky come out listless for this game, or will they have a fire in their belly to prove something after 21 years of futility? Will Tennessee be able to look beyond the current turmoil and put away an opponent that they should dominate on paper? It looks like both teams have injuries to their starting QBs, so it could be a patience-testing day for both sides.

The weather looks to be warmer than what we were thinking at the beginning of the week, partly sunny, high of 55 degrees. I know that Commonwealth will be a fun place to be tomorrow, and that your team will be represented well by our cousins south of the border. If you drive up, you'll find the Kentucky fans friendly and generous.

And yes, I'm Kentuckian by birth, but my ancestors crawled over the mountains 200 years ago and settled in Tennessee. I even blanched when I realized that some of them served in the Tennessee Volunteer Militia!

Here's to a great game, and perhaps the renewal of a once-great rivalry!

If I was a Cat fan, I think I'd be salivating so much that I'd wear a bib to the game. :D

I AM looking forward to the game, because after a pathetic start, the Cats finally seem to have pulled it together. With so much speculation surrounding the head coach's job security in the early season, it didn't quite seem that there would be much hope. Coupled with that, we've lost 18, yes, 18 players, most of them starters, to season-ending surgeries. It's been a freakish thing to watch. At one point, we had just one of our starting WRs on the field, and at Kentucky, 2nd stringers are a luxury. We even had our backup and 3rd string QBs playing wideout! The win at Vandy 2 weeks ago was unbelievable to watch. We were up 41-10 in the 2nd quarter, and Cutler/Bennett put on a show in the 4th quarter, and we only won 48-43. Much has been made about the Vols' loss to Vandy, but this is the best Vandy team that I've seen in a long time. Cutler will play on Sundays, and that freshman "My Name is Earl" Bennett will do some spectacular things in his 4 years at Vandy.

I don't know what to expect, to be honest. Part of me thinks it could be just another Vol blowout, but something also makes me want to hope.

BTW, any chance that Jim Bob Cooter will get to play? That would be awesome for our Public Address Announcer to announce, "in for Tennessee at quarterback, Jimmmmmbobcoooooooooterrrrrrrrrrrrr!" :yahoo:

McCat, how much do you think Pulley will play?

For now, Brooks is sandbagging a bit about Woodson's injury, IMO. It's on his non-throwing thumb. But I do think that if Woodson starts to struggle like he has in the last half of the season, we'll see a lot of Pulley.

If not, then we'll probably see him a couple of series.

When I saw Pulley in the Fla game, I couldn't believe fast the kid was, and didn't understand why the staff couldn't find a way to get that kid in on every offensive play.

From a UT fan perspective, I would say that Pulley is more of a threat than Woodson, though Woodson is the better QB.

It's interesting, because I think that Woodson is a little gunshy at this point after getting beat up behind a porous O-Line all season. That's caused him to be a little antsy in the pocket. He's very accurate as a passer, though.

Woodson can beat you with his arm, but Pulley can beat you with his feet. The kid has a second gear that is just phenomenal. Last week against Georgia, he had QB keeper around the corner for a TD that was just unbelievable in terms of the way he accellerated to the edge.

Pulley hit that same gear turning the corner against Fla when he scored his first TD. I just wonder if he could do it for four quarters. Seemed to me like his legs got a little tired in the GA game.

Woodson on the other hand looked as good or better than Brohm in the Louisville game. He really has been asked to do more than he is able when all of his receivers got hurt. He is going to be a good one.

Probably not, but I think most of us would like to see him get in there at some point. He's kinda like our Rudy I guess.

Thanks! It's good to be here. Other than all the orange here, it's much more friendly here than at the Gatorcountry site. :yuck:

You'll be back in no time. UNC is always going to be there. I like it when we beat the Tar Heels, but I do a backflip when dUKe loses. :dance2:

Seems like every time I turn around, I see Coach Ferretface on some VISA commercial. It's freaking nauseating to watch the ESPN talking heads fawn over dUKe, the golden boys of college basketball. :realmad:

Let's not forget that Duke's all-white team was in the Final Four in 1966 with Rupp's Runts and Texas Western.

Actually your stadium will not have many UT fans at all in it. Most of us are tired of watching slop.

We're tired of bad football, too, but I expect a good representation on both sides. Even though we've only won 9 games in 3 seasons, we still almost sell out every game.

And, it promises to be a great weather day for football on a holiday weekend.

Unlike you, many UT fans will still support the players on the field

Welcome to VolNation Brian McCat. Most of us here are respectful to one another. There are a few who like to take jabs at one another to start something, but we try not to take it personally. Anyhow, good luck to the cats tomorrow and may the better team win.
