Now that the Vols 2017 class is in the books its time to start focusing on 2018. Looks like the trend continues with the state of TN producing some great instate talent.

We have Cade Mays - 5* OT ranked 3rd OT and 12 overall player in the country.

We have 10 4* players and 1 5* (that we have locked up) in the state so far. CBJ and staff have to get the majority of these guys. I am tired of seeing quality guys instate going somewhere else. This class is make or break for CBJ and staff.

Is it just me or are there more in state guys this year that really want that Tennessee offer

Cade Mays tweeted out this morning about how TN's 18 class was going to be great, and some TN fan tweeted back at him "FIRE BUTCH".

Are some fans that angry at Butch that they will actively sabotage our recruiting class?

Disagree with the bolded. The only team in the division that has out-recruited UT by a notable margin is UGA. CBJ's results on the field in 2017 and 2018 will make or break him.

Anyways and to your point, it would be nice to see UT do a better job in-state in 2018. Moreover, UT needs to find a quality QB for 2018 in the worst way.

Hopefully we lock it up. Just land the top in state guys and this class will be on the verge of being elite

Yeah, but if you call those people out then you're the wrong one for accepting mediocrity (looking at you, FF).

2018 will be a super class, and some will go out of their way to bad mouth it. GBO!!!!

Ha. I thought it was great Cade Mays is already taking on a leadership role for the '18 class, tweeting out about how great the class is going to be. Very frustrating to see people who have twitter accounts decorated in TN fandom basically telling a top recruit not to come to TN because Butch Sucks.

Its seems like our fan base is the best at self sabotage...

State is loaded. And TN leads for everyone except Wray who is going to GA. DL class is best in modern time 3 top 150 players. I believe Coach Wells will take on Mid Tn area. He has relationships already here built up for years. His brother who Coached at Blackman and Riverdale very well respected. He should do a great job.

Hey someone should start a link on this kid I'm a newbie so I cant. He's going to be one of the top recruits in the country. One of the fastest kids in the State at 6'4 over 200 lbs he'll be a DE. His father Riggie Grimes played for the Crimson Tide in the late 90's.

Anyone who does stuff like that is either really, really stupid or they are not a fan. Probably both, UGA fans.

Interesting. 2018 team ranking has us at 22nd (2 commits). But the avg. star rating would put us in third. Alabama is in 9th (5 commits), but avg star rating drops them way down the list (comparable to ours this year).

We have a 5* and a 4* committed.
Bama has 3 4*'s a 3* and a less than 3* committed.

Bama's ship must be sinking.

All of their recruits will be receiving updated rankings soon...probably will have 2 5* and 3 4* by the end of the month.

He's in the class of 2020. I'm sure he will on the radar once he camps with the Vols.

Bill Crist I think was his name was on local radio last night saying that the hire of coach Warren has really put us in a good spot with 5* defensive end K.J Henry and 5* RB Zamir White. Not sure how reliable he is.

Certainly big potential. Will be another good year instate.
