I thought everyone and their little sister knew by now that the class of 2012 was gonna be sick with depth. Hopson and Harris both probably took the best chance they had at cashing in and went for it.

Oh! Let me join you in taking pleasure in the misfortune, poor decisions, mistakes, and otherwise bad luck of former players for the University of Tennessee...not to mention the fact that these guys are still kids and making what they feel are the best decisions they can.

Such a fickle fan base, we have.

Tobias, how dare you get a contract with a guaranteed multi-million dollar signing bonus! What a mistake.

Scotty, you made a horrible decision. You will only be making six figures in Europe a year earlier instead of later! What bad choices these kids have made.

Tobias - Not getting paid Scotty - is It looks bleak for the NBA - Maybe Cuban should buy the entire league and start over. Yes he is that -

Who is taking pleasure in it ? I have an autographed BB of Tobias Harris - The idiots running the NBA are the ones that need schooled > maybe if hockey would die things would get better, for the smaller markets. :stooges:

Hopson would not play in the NBA if they played this year. He will go overseas to play ball.

Scotty would still be in Europe even if he had stayed another year. I hate to go all Ron White on him but you can't fix soft. Tobias made a good decision. He was a 1st rounder which means gauranteed money. Why come back to school and possibly get injured, or become a part of a much deeper class when he was already a 1st rounder. Smart move by both.

harris won't make a nickel this year. maybe next year also. this will be a very, very long strike.

but as a first round pick he has guaranteed money for him at some point. if he came back and got hurt he may have not gotten a nickel in the association ever.

Tobias will eventually get paid, and one of the things about what the new CBA is going for is not messing with existing contracts. So he should still get his 5 mil or w/e it is guaranteed (I don't know what his contract is even worth sadly)

But all the people hating on Scotty is just disgusting. He's making more than any three of us combined, and he's doing it playing a game in a foreign country.

I would drop out of college right now to do that.

How much is Scotty making? Do not know how much he is to receive.

Tobias made the right decision and is a VFL by staying in school and helping out as he can until it's time to report. He could have benefitted with another year under Coach Zo - but the injury risk and deep pool for next year made it a no brainer IMO.

Scotty did the right thing as well. There is no way he could/would have given what Coach Zo will require of his players. Scotty's decision benefitted him and the Vols. That's a win-win.

Link?

The last lockout season, 1999, started on February 5th. Each team played 50 regular season games, the all-star was cancelled and the playoffs were played as normal. I actually preferred the 50 game season. Each game meant much more to the players/team and the fan. It is being reported on ESPN LA that as long as a CBA is reached by early January 2012, there will be a season.

As for Hobson, he needs more than one more year of college ball to be NBA ready. He was headed overseas anyway.

Links are all over ESPN home page. it's sort of a big deal.

Tobias made a decision that will benefit him, as he was a 1st rounder.

Hopson was just dumb and lazy.

Not every 5* proves to be a Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, or a Carmelo Anthony. I for one appreciate the time Scotty contributed to our program and wish him success
in life whatever he chose to pursue. Good luck Scotty.

Why is it a mistake? Tobias and the rest of the league now have longer to blaze blunts without worrying about a drug test, if they even do that in the NBA.

But let me guess, Tobias isn't like Cam right? He uses Rohto's, right? :)

Scotty made the right decision. QQ more boys. He wasn't going to play in the NBA (straight out of college atleast) with or without a year under Martin.

Hey, where did you buy your crystal ball? I've been meaning to pick one of those up. It might come in handy one day when I feel the need to exude my superiority on a message board.

Picked it up from the Common Sense and All Thing Sane Mart on Cumberland.
