Looks like Hopson and Harris made a big mistake

Not every 5* proves to be a Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, or a Carmelo Anthony. I for one appreciate the time Scotty contributed to our program and wish him success
in life whatever he chose to pursue. Good luck Scotty.

Exactly. If you are a Vols fan, you should want ALL former Vols to succeed. I appreciate everything Scotty and Tobias gave us as they laid it on the line and will always be Vols. Selfishly, I wish they had stayed so we could have seen them play another year but they did what was best for them. Good luck to both/

Links are all over ESPN home page. it's sort of a big deal.

Yeah, but they are only talking training camp and pre-season. The 1999 lockout provides a roadmap. If 1999 repeats, NOT a big deal for players, because they will get paid as long there is a regular season (at least 50 games). Sometime in early January will be the drop dead date. The thread implied that Harris and Hobson screwed themselves by coming out early. My point is that is simply not known at this time. Harris will eventually get his 1st round money and Hobson is not going to see NBA for awhile, if ever.

It said no preseason - if they have no preseason games and start the season w/o any practice games are all these rookies going to be signed right away ? Hobson ? who is that ? :whistling:

Yup. Agree with the masses here. Great decision on both parts. Weak draft equals guaranteed money for Tobias and Scotty wouldn't have even sniffed next years draft with all the talent in it. This year was his best chance so now he's gotta pray he can CJ Watson it ;)

Noone wants to give Scotty any credit for a myriad of legitimate reasons. But, I have to say, he was better last year than he was the 1st 2.

Hopson? Yes.

Harris? No. He's going to make a couple extra million.

not this year - anyway - then there will be the influx of new rookies coming in next years NBA season - he still has no money coming or a contract - just wondering if there is no NBA season how will next years draft go down ? :glare:

Harris doesn't have a contract, but he's guaranteed a contract because of being a 1st rounder

Stupid thread is stupid.

Harris = future millionaire.

Hopson... stupid decision regardless if there was a season.

You're losing the Harris argument and there is no way to win it. Dude is assured millions at some point. He's such a moron!!!!!!!!!

What would one more year do for either of them? Hopson would still go to Europe and Tobias would risk not being a 1st rounder.
