Looks Like Jay Graham

The saddest part of this hire for me is that ARKANSAS has managed to hire considerably bigger names for their last two coaches than UT. Why? Arkansas gets Petrino / Tennessee gets Dooley...Arkansas gets Bielema / Tennessee gets Jones. Either Tennessee, for some reason, is less attractive to potential coaches than Arkansas, who faces LSU and Alabama...OR, the hiring efforts of UT have been deficient. For clarity, I'm not suggesting Bielema is a home run hire, but he is undeniably more highly regarded than Jones. From my perspective, it appears as though Arkansas' AD has simply been more determined. Why?

UT looks like the overly cocky drunk has-been that keeps getting his ass whipped and doesn't know when it's time to sleep it off . Arkansas looks like the cool and calculated unlucky guy that has a lot to offer in the immediate future to someone that will just stick around. You know what UT is capable of, it's just a matter of waiting until they stop self destructing.

Hope that report is true on Jay. Tee? I am hoping he gets on this staff. CBJ is up against a timecrunch with putting the staff together and recruiting, dead period coming up pretty fast.

I just noticed your location. Were you there for that horrific tornado in 99?

No thank God, but thanks for asking I didnt move here until 2007, (Uncle Sam sent me here.) Im retired USAF since 2010, originally from Mountain City. Landed a good job and ended up staying.

I read somewhere that when jay signed he added a clause that gave him an automatic extension if Dooley was fired. He wanted to make sure he was retained if Dooley was booted. Anyone have exact details? I think Rucker tweeted it. Not sure though...read a lot the past couple weeks.

And good for Jay. He walked away from a pretty good situation at South Carolina to come home and try to help right the ship. I'm glad to see his loyalty didn't bite him in the ass.

I know it was kind of a messed up off the wall question, but I've never met anyone that went through that and was just thinking...damn that would have been hell.

Glad his loyalty paid off as well. Not that Tee should need much persuasion, but hopefully this will help sway him in his decision to come home.

If it's a fact that CJG is staying then that's a great 1st step for our new HC.

Keep it rolling CBJ and you'll soon have all of Vol Nation behind you.

VFL...GBO!!!

This was a no-brainer. Jones wants to win over this fan base. Getting rid of a Tennessee guy wouldn't be a popular choice. I'm not saying Graham didn't deserve it, but the fact that he's a Tennessee guy didn't hurt.

As most know Jay Graham needs to be retained on Butch Jones staff. We can confirm that he will be retained. Inside Tennessee Publisher.

Coach Jones would have had a **** storm if he fired one of the best RB coaches in the country and a VFL. I wish he had of kept Sam Pitman but it is what it is.

If it's true that was his first smart move. His second would be to get Tee.
GO VOLS!

Now to get Tee back and bring in Steele for DC, and we can breathe a sigh of relief. I wouldn't mind keeping Pittman, too.

Steele? Steele? The same Steele who can't stop ACC offenses and let WV hang 70 on 'em? That one? You have lost your mind. I would rather him bring the DC he has now than Steele.

I think would already be ran out of town if he fired a former Vol and I think he knows it.
