Looks like scout.com has dropped UT

Was Kenbrell Thompkins let go because of academics....regardless that he was wanting to bounce because of Kiffin?

That makes me feel better, thanks.

Seriously, Scout has never impressed me in their rankings of players or teams. They have listed about a thousand five-star (ok, just 50) players like they always do right before NSD. Rivals does a much better job and gets player rankings *much* closer, IMO.

Hopefully with our new PRO-BOWL producing WR coach...Ambles will come back....I was scared that would happen.

Does scout just go by quantity, apparently so because i seen where we was ranked 2nd in the sec behind florida for quality ( 3.62 stars), i dont get it.

They had us with three 5*'s last week....

Smith, Ahmad Dixon, and someone else who I can't remember.

rivals had us at 12 and ESPN still has us in the top 10. So whatever. Scout is dropping us because of coaching changes not lack of recruits. Look at our commits compared to the ppl around us or even 15-25. I mean really? We dont stack up to any of those teams? I could care less really. This is just someone's opinion of our class... I think we are hauling in a nice class and a nice coaching staff especially given the current situation.

i think we dropped down to like 13 or 15 on rivals! just think we were at 5 at this time last week...... i just wanna give a special thanks to that jerk wad that left us and screwed us over..hopefully dooley can take this class back in the top 10.

face it folks time to let alittle truth set in. we will be outside the top 20, and for the second straight year we won't sniff the polls during the season. tennessee football just isn't tennessee football anymore.

It just has to do with quantity of commits. Once we pick up ten more commits, we will be top 10. Not worried.

Hey champy, has anyone ever called you a pessimist?

Seriously, though, agree that Tennessee football is only a shadow of what it was a decade + ago. Its going go take a few years to get back to form. However, I believe that come national signing day, our class will be top 20, outside shot at being close to top 10. A handful of kids have wavered on us recently, which is understandable... but our core group looks intact and I think we'll reel the some of the others back in... as well as some guys that are new on our radar with DD. We can still sell facilities, tradition and early playing time.

yes i have been. i guess it is easy to be negative about tennessee football when it seems everything is going against us. with ambles and thompkins gone i really don't see us with a top 10 class. DD will have to reel some guys back in and add a few before we will get back into the top 20. i guess it is all about CDD and how much he can do. lately it just seems like the cards are stacked against us. i would say 23 or 24 ranked. you are right we can offer those 3, but with a unproven coach it makes it a harder sell.
