I wish that during NFL games the players would introduce themselves as:
Peyton Manning.......Rocky Top.
I think he actually did that one time.

Why does the water/amusement park need to be in a place called Rocky Top? Would they then appropriate the name for the park itself? The town has 2 exits on I-75 and plenty of flat land. That should be enough for the developers. Let them get creative and come up with a new name for the park.

Listen to the crowds in Neyland. Rocky Top may be a mythical place somewhere in Tennessee but on Autumn Saturday afternoons it's right there in THE stadium.

I think the idea is simple. Those developers want to capitalize on the "Rocky Top" name known by the song all around the nation and eventually have everyone think that Lake City is Rocky Top and people will flock there because of the notoriety.

What other reason to use a well known name that your town has nothing to do with?
