Love Coach Prime or hate him...

He’s going to have to play Hunter as a WR only. He’s wearing that kid out

Interesting to see him and a buff player having a bit of heat on the sidelines.

A crack in the facade
Time will tell. I've always been of the mind that a head coach needs the players to know he has their back and respect, but the coach shouldn't get too chummy with the players. Kind of like a boss getting too close to the employees. There has to be a clear line....one voice...one leader....separate.

Gotta give credit due. Specially with all the incompetent recent examples, but the officiating was strong last night.

Why are they not on campus tho? It’s a new age
They are not on campus because he cut kids with a relationship in good standing. I don't care if it's a new age or not. My feeling would be different IF he was hired and they chose to leave. They didn't. He flat out told them they wouldn't be on the team. Many of which would have likely never played in the NFL, however they still had their education. I would feel the same way if Heupel did anything similar. The culture is flawed

Wut. He didn't recruit him by some miraculous recruiting talent he has. His NFL celebrity status as a great DB recruited a great DB. Hunter idolized Sanders before they ever met and he's using this kid wrong and he's hurt and will probably be hurt again if they keep making him play 150 snaps a game. Furthermore ESPN and the media did the rest of the recruiting by putting Neons face on screens everyday. Her didn't really do anything special.

I actually was surprised they beat ASU. They have a lot of losing to do the rest of the year. They are not a good team and I sense they are very near imploding. Their OC is legit and has been the very bright spot of the whole situation.
ESPN is likely to get some blowback from some influential ADs over the exaggerated exposure of Sanders.

Sander's great advantages:
-- He really knows football well
-- He knows how to lead (though he may not know how to follow, which makes one an even stronger leader)
-- He exudes confidence
-- He generates buzz and excitement

Sanders debilitating disadvantages:
-- He is polarizing, to the point of being divisive
-- He thinks he knows more than everyone else (which can block him benefitting from the knowledge of his assistants and team)
-- He is self-centered to a harmful extent (can destroy trust)

Given those strong currents flowing through him into the Colorado program, it will be an interesting experiment over the next few years. Will the advantages overcome the disadvantages?

We will know 3 or 4 years from now.

Go Vols!
