I’m traveling and watched the first half of the game in a small Irish Pub in Sevierville. I was alone and shared a table with some kind (and drunk) TN fans. One of those fans was up and holler’n/cheering on the VOLS the entire ugly half. I have to say I was impressed with his spirit. I on the other hand, I was bored and frustrated. It was a hard half of football to watch. Then do us all a favor, find something else to do on game days the rest of the season. It will do your psyche good AND save us from reading this drivel every week.
And I will continue to peacefully protest those who continually post how bad everything is. So, while at this Irish pub, did you sit on your hands when the last drive in overtime resulted in a TD? Did you yell about how bad the team was. Or, did you jump up and scream with joy along with the rest. Did you jump up and ugh five and fist/chest bump the fans around you? Relish that part and not the negative. It is better for you and the rest of us. If you consider the product inferior, then as I stated stop using it. Constant negative drivel is no better than constant positive drives. Now, that is off my chestI’m traveling and watched the first half of the game in a small Irish Pub in Sevierville. I’m typically a cup half full guy and love being around positive spirits. But, there are serious problems with the football program in Knoxville.
I respect a fan who can cheer an inferior product. On the other hand, there’s not much to cheer with this team on the offensive side. I have no problem respectfully expressing my displeasure and support this right of all fans… on any thread. It’s why this site is great and so much fun.
Peace! GBO!
The drunk was the only high fiving chest bumper in the 1st half while I was there. Otherwise, the only other excited fans shere wearing silver and red.And I will continue to peacefully protest those who continually post how bad everything is. GO VOLS, FLUSH BAMA!
Who is pumping sunshine. I am just not a negative ninny like some on this board. What the crap difference does it make what you and your ilk thought the offense was going to look like? WE ARE 5-1 AND RANKED IN THE TOP TEN. Be negative all you like, just shows your true colors and they aren't OrangePump sunshine all you’d like. I encourage it if it makes you feel good. But the true equation is we are miles away from where we thought we would be this year offensively.
Some of you don’t know the difference in negative and realistic. I enjoy the wins but I’m also realistic. Winning is great. But if our offensive play continues we can’t and won’t win the games needed to make the playoffs. That’s the goal, right? It blows my mind that some of you guys get so angry that our fans want greatness. You can wallow in 8 win(no postseason) play seasons and be happy all you’d like. It’s your right. Just like it’s my right to want more from and for our university. We have all of the resources to produce it so the want for it isn’t unrealistic. We were once there. It’s time to get back to it. It’s not like we’re candy fans angry that we’re not in the SEC CG. This is Tennnessee. Is suggest you not letting it ruin your day that fans like myself want a little more.Who is pumping sunshine. We are 5 - 1 and sitting in the Top 10 despite some bad offense. You speak as if we just lost 5 games in a row. Maybe enjoy the win for a minute. 2 years ago it was the exact opposite scenarioour defense is the reason I still have slight hope we can still have a good season. They have to eventually figure something out on offense, it doesn’t have to elite, just be better than terrible please
I enjoy every win. I also look down the road a bit. With the way Bama looks, and the loss to Vandy, I think a loss to them does us in for the year. I think a loss to them and Arky puts us on the outs. Our offense has to figure it out this week or the season we were all planning for just turns into another 9-10 win season with no meaningful post season. We are 5 - 1 and sitting in the Top 10 despite some bad offense. It’s a team sport and our offensive shortcomings are clearly on display, but we have figured out a way to win 2 conference games which is always good. Would be nice if folks would recognize there’s no comparison between a freshman Manning and a RS freshman Nico. Manning showed up at UT in the summer before the season with an established senior QB and no expectations to start. Nico went through bowl practice 2 years back, 2 seasons of spring practice, and started a bowl game last year. He’s been groomed for 2 years to be the starter and is not meeting expectations. World of difference in their situations.I’ll tell you something else too-
We are watching a RS freshman growing up and learning on the job. And are still in total control of our own destiny in the process. I remember when young Manning was learning on the job (and throwing picks to Florida twice at the goal line) that wasn’t the case. And that’s no slam on 16, just some context.
This is an amazing spot to be in.
And, we finally have a coach that appears to know how to bring a young QB along and not let him do more than he can handle at the moment. I know people were booing at some of the 3rd down handoffs, but Nico wasn’t comfortable. That will come. AND Nico is realizing he can run- and his decision making in that regard was MUCH better tonight- especially late.
I truly think he will grow into —and win- a Heisman trophy one day soon.
Life is good.
Bring me some damn Bama baby.
QB play - Hooker had a magical season pre injury.2 years ago it was the exact opposite scenario
Offense was killing people and TN needed just a "good enough" defense for a couple of stops a game
Wtf happened to create such a massive swing??
I think most would agree with your “respectfully expressing” point. It’s the guttural comments that are hard to take.I’m traveling and watched the first half of the game in a small Irish Pub in Sevierville. Defense acquired playmakers and offense lost some. Fortunately, there’s talent on offense and they are bound to perform according to some fans’ expectations.2 years ago it was the exact opposite scenario
