Lovie Smith is an idiot

So you lose to them on purpose to keep this senario alive? Resting starters is overrated.

You do what'll help you win in the playoffs and stop worrying about the Packers' season. Period.

Agreed, but if Clay Matthews rips Cutler's leg off and concusses him with it, both Lovie and Jay Jay will be getting what they deserve

Awful playcalling from the Packers sideline there. You one of the best QBs in the league, act like it

Oh it's a gamble, not saying it isn't. Also a gamble resting starters for two weeks, specifically a up and down starting QB.

If they didn't have the bye I would tend to agree more that its a bonehead move.

Man you act as if you're the biggest Bears fan alive and you're scared to freakin death that Cutler is gonna tear an ACl or something. They play, they get injured, they get paid..it's the NFL.

No, I just think all this abstract junk like "momentum" and bragging rights are exactly that...junk. There is nothing to gain here.

Again, they had played a full half already. Is that not enough to shake the rust off?

IIRC they HAD to leave their starters in to actually make the playoffs...

Nope. win or lose they couldn't change anything by winning that game. They played solely for pride.

You talking about the Pats game? They were playing not to be an embarrassing footnote in history, and lost anyway...what's your point?

They played to win. It turned out ok for them a month later.

Ask Indy how sitting the starters for two weeks works out.

So this second half is going to help them beat the Packers in the NFC Championship? A game and a half wasn't enough to learn about them, but this second half is a future key to victory that's worth risking injury for?

And again, playing a full half counts as resting this entire week?

Instead of trying to provide an example that doesn't even make sense, how about you tell me how it worked out for the Pats last year?

And yeah, it's really me against the world...it's not like you saw a lot of Mark Brunell and Brian Hoyer today or anything, genius. Nope, the best coach in the NFL doesn't agree with me at all.

I'm glad. Like I said in my first post, I wanted the Bears to lose and the starters playing all game makes it even better.

There was plenty to gain. I don't think they really wanted to face Green Bay in a playoff game. And they still don't for that matter...

Again, it wouldn't be until the NFC Championship at home. And they're scared of that? But not worried about playing at Atlanta? Hmm...
