Loving the Dool-Aid!

First off, we did not keep almost every player from the Kiffin class. We lost a BUNCH.

There's no question whatsoever we were headed toward a top 3 class under Kiffin.

I'm not saying I would trade coaches, I'm just pointing out the gross inaccuracy of your post.

If your going straight off we're we where when Kiffin left we were 6th with I believe 27 recruits we are now 8th with 25 recruits. We are basically back to where we where. We lost some players on the d side but picked up some stronger players on the o side. I'm sorry you cant see that. Yeah, I know your a mod. But 6th to 7th isnt that different. You can speculate all you want about be a 3rd ranked class but your speculating. There's no actual proof we would have went any higher. Whats real is Kiffin left and we were 6th in Rivals and we are now 8th. Thats fact.

So we can go ahead and put the Vols down for the #1 class next year?

Sweet.

I'll bet anyone we finish top 3 next year. You want me to open the thread and state we go top three so its on record? And any of you who disagree can post you disagree and we'll see where the chips fall next year. just tell me and I'll post the thread right now.

Fine. You've sold me.

Let's just hope some of those 19 wide receivers UT picked up under Dooley make a smooth transition to the DL & LB positions where they'll be needed.

Arbitrary rankings on some recruiting site do not tell the story of your class. You have to look at how well you filled your needs.

You aren't going to get very far with an argument based on some invented numbers from a website.

I once knew a tidwell that went to Goodpasture. Anyways, my point is if you contain the situation to the last three weeks Dooley basically kept us nuetral. if we had kept Copeland and Stanley we might not be even having this debate.

Orgeron was the one to offer Nance to begin with. Some forget that.

I'm not trying to say they did not do a great job all things considered. I'm just criticizing the things I think we could have done better based on what I know. The coaches are obviously privy to information I am not so that doesn't factor into what I am saying.

given dd had less than three weeks and an incomplete staff before nsd and a previous unethical staff trying to steal recruits, he is almost a miracle worker. Five times better acommplishment considering the circumstances than the punk last year when he had much more time and no previous staff to fight off. Congrats to dd and staff, especially to chaney and thompson.

very well put, GBO!

To be honest, im a little disappointed.

No offense, but I don't even understand how you can be disappointed. Three weeks ago we thought we were thought we were witnessing the Apocalypse of UT football. Three weeks later, the Dool-Aid has managed to put together an exceptional recruiting class in which he was able to get some recruits to switch from schools within the conference. Think about it, instead of having to match up with Rogers and Hunter people are going to have to game plan for them. Yes, we did fall short in the DT position but that will just create more of an incentive to go out next year and sign the top DT. Keep in mind, Mount Cody was only a 3* on rivals and Mark Ingram was a 4*, they were the keystone to a national championship season this year. There's going to be some pleasant surprises and disappointments in this class but let's just think positive because as far as I am concerned we were very fortunate in how it turned out.

A better job? We're 8th with no DC no Dl a coach who nobody really knows about who just started 3 weeks ago. I'm trying to keep this in perspective. Next year we finish 8th feel free to cricify him on any part you dont see fit. But this year, in this situation, he did "basically" keep us at the same rivals ranking. Yes are d side got weaker but our o side got stronger. James stone also basically said he would not have commited under Kiffin earlier today. Anyways, I give up. We're all saying the same thing over and over again now.

Sab,
Given the knowns and circumstances what's your guess +/- as to how many spots DD gained or lost us. Or Hamilton by picking Dooley?

I'd say neutral but the optimist in me says +2 on damage control and -1 on filling key positions.

I won't address that. It's useless speculation. I'll only say I'm disappointed we couldn't add a couple of more bodies on the interior of the defensive line.

I respect that you actually go on record though. I disagree but I respect that. Anyone can make negative statements but never go on record.
Well at the risk of not having your respect, put me on the record for UT not finishing with a top three class next year as well.
