LSU another weak non-conference only 1 ranked team, posted since some are saying our schedule is so weak not..

The reason I was always so happy with the way Pat typically scheduled is because I was always very competitive back in the day, and it’s hard to beat the excitement of game day when you know you’re about to face a top opponent who will take you to your limits.

If I were a top player at LSU today, seeing that schedule would definitely have been extremely disappointing. Yes, obviously the conference schedule will give them plenty of challenges, and hopefully that will be enough for them… but there’s something special about going against the titans of other conferences.

Maybe the LSU players aren’t like I was. I find it hard to believe that Hailey Van Lith isn’t secretly disappointed, though. I absolutely love that kid’s competitiveness!

But like others said, it probably won’t matter as far as their seeding in the post-season goes, but dang. Those poor fans paying to see them beat everyone by 60. Boring as hell.

Same here. I'm a Texas fan first, but I've always been a Lady Vol fan also. I hate these weak schedules we're seeing these days. Pat, Jody, C Viv, Tara, Geno... all had competitive non conference schedules every year.

what had happened to that annual matchup those two started? Anybody know anything as to why it has ended?

JKZ, I don't know for sure why the series ended, but it did stop soon after Vic took over. I vaguely recall a rumor at one time that he wasn't interested in continuing the series, but you know how rumors are. It could have been Kellie's idea to end the series, I don't know.

Good non-conference matchups are good for the fans and good for the sport. Isn't that why Pat always did that?

I choose to believe both, but primarily because it prepared her team to compete down the stretch.

Vic's first year the game in Austin was cancelled last minute due to COVID protocol. The next year the Lady Vols won in Knoxville. Last year the game wasn't scheduled and I assumed that was because everyone expected is to meet in the Caribbean tournament which never happened. This year I can't explain why we're not meeting but it's really a disappointment. That's one game I always enjoy whether we win or lose. Good luck to y'all in the SEC this year, I'll damn sure be rooting for ya to take down LSU and SC.
