Does anybody think the hurricane will have a positive/negative effect on LSU?

Wow, go back and read that again... I know what you measn, but... This is the single most sweeping tragedy in our nation's history. Talk about negatives. And for us to complain about away games, or hope to gain an upperhand from it is just wrong on so many levels.

My concern is that Baton Rouge is a major relief site, with thousands of volunteers, medical staff, and law enforcement personnel needed. The idea of organizing a game and, in turn, pulling some of the much-needed resources away from helping the sick, dying, and homeless, while possibly jeopardizing the safety of the volunteers, seems absurd.

Trade home and away with next year and let the area heal.

Why would you say that?

I think it would be an HONOR to be part of the FIRST MAJOR EVENT in the area; something to really bring everyone together.  I agree it would be hard to get there and back, and I don't know where if anywhere I would sleep since I am sure my reservations are gone, but that stuff doesn't matter.

I think the game should be played at a later date say late november or a neutral site say here in bristol there was an offer for va tech and ut to play the game here for 40 million take the money and use it for relief fund or we play them next year at knoxville just swap the games.

Tulane defeats USC in Pasadena this year. Book it.

Anyway, I think this will have a positive psychological effect on both LSU and Tulane's team, because they'll feel like they're fighting to rejuvenate the state (as foolish as that may sound, but you get the idea). I kinda like the idea of not playing a single home game this season. Sure it's a pain, but I've noticed my tigers do better when they're not expected to win. Not to mention, it's a great opportunity. Who in the country would argue our schedule was weak in that situation? Probably only Trev Alberts.

I'm not offended.

I'll ask you, how old are you to not figure the deaths and livelihoods lost down there aren't serious, tho? If you can even hint that the destruction down there isn't serious, then you should learn some empathy.

So, while I'm not offended in the least, empathy tells me that someone with a personal stake in the situation down there may be offended if they happen into the site of an upcoming foe and seeing those fans hoping to profit in homefield advantage off of the losses they have personally experienced. Or seeing some guy opining that it shouldn't be taken so seriously. They may take it seriously. And they may get offended.

It's about class, dude.
