so its going to cost him 1.25 million to leave. Michigan would probably pay that for him...Money talks he wants to go so if they give him a decent offer (I am sure they will) he will be gone.

apparently the Michigan crowd hasn't watched any LSU games over the past couple of seasons

well he is a Michigan man and that is probably good enough for them. I sure there are UT fans that would be the same way over a UT grad.

they apparently were in the late 70s, early 90s and remain so today. otherwise, CPF would have been shown the door in 2005

Miles has finished in the top 10 every year he's been at LSU. Going to Michigan would be starting all over. Plus I'd rather live in LA then Michigan. I understand he's an alum, but the better job is the one he has.

Well, as a Michigan man, he must feel out of place in LA--especially after his R-kansas blunder.

Another spin though...

the ole ball coach might be just the guy to pull some of the FL talent away from the Gators which wouldn't be all bad either.

Spurrier's not going anywhere. At least not to LSU. They'd be foolish to go for someone close to retirement and then go through hiring again in a few years.

Miles record at LSU is 32-6 (.842). That's about as good of a start for a head coach in the SEC that I can remember. Even Meyer has lost 4 games in two years. I'm surprised he's so willing to throw that away.

Its less compeition there. He can win the division by beating only 1 team. If he beats OSU all the michigan fans will proclaim him a saint even if he looses most of the other games.

Rumor is that they are interested in Spurier.
Bogus.

What job has Spurrier NOT been connected with?

Throwing Spurrier's name into an article seems to be the thing to do these days because it attracts attention

Miles is history, this is a job he's coveted for years and Michigan wants to make a big splash.
