Auburn is pathetic. The first thing they did when Tuberville got the job was buy themselves out of the game with Florida State and replace them with Appalachian State.

Well I guess they didn't learn after last year.

That's a sure fact... the excuse I got from an Auburn fan was that someone pulled out on them "the last min." Does anyone know about that off the top of your head?

Yeah I think fresno state pulled out at the last minute and they had to book an weaker team. But hell they have two this year, no excuse for that.

But I still think the Auburns and LSUs shouldn't be playing IAA teams

Yeah I absolutely agree, but sometimes it's not all about choice. Coming off a national championship in 2004 Virginia Tech backed out of our schedule until 2007, and our Atheletic Director met with almost 30 teams trying to work out games with them to fill our last home game slot, and almost none were excited to come to Baton Rouge when we were so called "hot". So you have to end up paying a team like appy state to come and play you. But your right they shouldn't be playing teams in 1AA, I don't think it should even be an option, but I do know they didn't go in looking for it.

It was closer than UGA wanted, but it never was in much doubt.  It was 48-28.

Still pretty impressive to see a 1AA team put up that many yards and that many points against a top 10 team.

that game was closer than the score implies, i was at that game cause i'm a GSU student and at half time the score was 7-6 (we also played pretty much the whole game without our star fullback jermaine austin because he got hurt on the bottom of the pile, now i obviously didnt see it but some of the southern players said a uga linebacker intentionally twisted his ankle). but yeah, the 3rd quarter is what killed us because we had a pretty costly fumble and some other mistakes. and uga brought their first string offense back in the 4th with about 2 minutes to go to make it 48-28. also, go back and check out uga's schedule last year, nobody else they ever played hung 28 points on them (thats our claim to fame this year, hahaha). but we get uga back on our schedule again in 2008.

Yeah I dont know.... we said the same thing down here, but that's the story we got from our A.D. "We just couldn't fit anybody else in our schedule" was more or less the words we got. A handful of guys get to make those decisions, and the other hunderds of thousands of us get to deal with em.

Hey guys I'm new here.  I've been reading posts for a while now, but just wanted to throw my 2 cents in. I've been a Vols fan since before I could walk because my dad bleeds orange and white and so I did too. But I went to LSU and well I began to bleed other colors. But as for the post and the "cream puff" schedule as I see it's been called well..... I see these things. #3 UT,  #11 Fla, #15 Aub. #18 Ariz. st., #24 Alabama(coaches poll), and I'm like wheres the "cream puff" factor come in to play. Granted 4 of those 5 do come at home, but when almost half of your games are ranked opponents regardless of at home or not the word that comes to mind is not "cream puff", because these teams at home or not is no cake walk. One thing I have always admired about UT is year in and year out they have some of the best non conference games, but as we all know in the SEC is that week in and week out your team is going to get beat up on the field, but 5 ranked opponents Conference or non confernce and at home or not is a tough schedule...USC has 2 preseason ranked teams on their schedule.. I mean come on.
I went to the last UT/LSU game at LSU(2 OT game), and I think this game will have the same excitement, and I hope UT brings as many fans as they did last time, that was great. We are all excited to have all of youll down here and if any of you have been down here you know, as long as you can take an occasional "Tiger bait" you will have a great time too.[attachmentid=2999]

You misunderstood me....I said ya'll had a cream puff road schedule...I didn't mean that you all have a cream puff schedule...Your road schedule is pretty easy is what I'm saying.

Hehe... I didn't think about that.  But I still think the Auburns and LSUs shouldn't be playing IAA teams.  Auburn has two this year.  Ball St. and WKU.  If they want to generate revenue for a team, then play Troy or UAB.  I mean what are the Vols going to do, schedule the Mocs or Golden Eagles????  (If you don't know who these teams are, then you get my point... and even if you do, you still get my point)  :D

Ball State is D-IA. They are just really, really bad.

That sure makes them look like they have a lot of confidence in their coach.
